1. Boebert back in the news: CNN reported Friday that back in December, servers at a fancy New York City party refused to continue to serve alcohol to Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, believing she was inebriated.
As the terrific Melanie Zanona wrote:
At the December soiree, which was the New York Young Republican Club’s annual gala, multiple witnesses saw a server tell Boebert they would not bring her any more alcohol, with one witness telling CNN the server told the congresswoman they believed she had been overserved. Throughout the night, Boebert also kept attempting to snap selfies with Trump, who was sitting at the same table as her. Eventually, Trump’s security detail stepped in and asked Boebert to stop, according to the witnesses, who attended the event and saw the interaction take place.
Which, oomph.
You’ll remember that Boebert made news — and not the good kind! — a few months before that December incident when she was asked to leave the musical “Beetlejuice” after she and her, uh, male companion were talking, taking pictures and acting inappropriately.
The footage, was, um rough.
Boebert and her team initially sought to laugh off the incident. She tweeted this:
But, she later apologized for her behavior.
“The past few days have been difficult and humbling, and I’m truly sorry for the unwanted attention my Sunday evening in Denver has brought to the community,” Boebert said. “While none of my actions or words as a private citizen that night were intended to be malicious or meant to cause harm, the reality is they did and I regret that.”
