A few days ago, a paid subscriber sent me a note. His message was simple: With the stakes in this election so high, would I think about dropping the paywall between now and the election?
That, I thought, was a very good idea. So I am doing it.
Between now and November 5, all the content on this newsletter will be FREE for ANY subscriber. Yes, all (almost) 20,000 of you! Not a subscriber yet? No time like the present!
My goal — from the day I started this newsletter in late January 2023 — is to reach as many people as I can with my perspectives and, I hope, insights about politics.
That’s especially true in the final weeks of the campaign — when sorting the wheat from the chaff (or the facts from the mis- and disinformation) is really, really hard.
You need a trusted guide to wade through what matters and, more importantly, what doesn’t. I will be that guide. For all of you!
Now. This is my livelihood. Which means I have to make money to keep doing it. I am very fortunate that many of you have decided to become investors in me and what we are building here.
As I noted earlier this month, November 5 won’t be the end — no matter what happens. Which means that I am not going away after the election. I will be here to report on either a Harris or a Trump presidency. And what the party out of power will do. And all of the other political machinations that drive decisions in Washington and around the country.
But, to do that, I DO need more investors. And while the content for the next 2 weeks will all be free, not all content will be free forever. If you do want to financially support me, it’s $6 a month or $60 for the year. What does that get you? Asked and answered!
A 15-minute, one-on-one Zoom call with me. One on one. Me and you. No topics off limits!
Exclusive access to my weekly post-election podcast “Name Your Mount Rushmore.” Every week we will pick a subject — candy, political slogans, ‘80s hair-metal bands — and debate who makes our personal Mount Rushmore in that category.
An exclusive Sunday email with a list of recommendations from yours truly — a podcast, an article, a YouTube video, a Substack, a song, a book, a TV show — that I think you will dig.
If you want to become a subscriber — free or paid — thank you in advance. You can do it here:
The next two weeks (and what comes after) are critical for what direction the country takes over the next four years. I hope having access to all of my content over that time helps you better understand the choice before you — and the country.

nice move. but you are very much worth the cost of the subscription.
As a paid subscriber, I can easily put any misgivings aside (as in "Hey, I paid for that full access, WTF Chris?") and wholeheartedly endorse your magnanimous decision.
