Q: Happy New Year! I hope you will indulge my curiosity about a scenario (admittedly longshot), where a presidential nominee can't participate in the general election due to death/incapacity/prison/whatever occurring before November. Do the DNC/RNC then pick the respective candidate? What exactly is the process? And your thoughts on who would be the nominee in such a case (both D and R).
