Chaos!
That’s the word of the week in politics — as House Republicans just seem to not be able to pick a Speaker of the House.
The latest victim is Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise, who bowed out of the race Thursday night — less than 24 hours after his colleagues made him their choice to run the House.
What’s next? It’s anyone’s guess. What seems clear, at least as of this writing, is that there isn’t a member of the House Republican Conference who can rally the support of 217 of his or her fellow members.
