It’s not every week that history gets made in Washington. But, this was one of those weeks — with Kevin McCarthy becoming the first House Speaker ever to be removed from office.
The shockwaves are still being felt in Washington as the GOP scrambles to find its next leader even as a(nother) government shutdown looms and the 2024 presidential race creeps ever closer.

Q: How's THIS for a theory/“question”: The MAGA caucus voted to remove McCarthy specifically because they know that they don’t have a replacement. They WANT to paralyze government even more than it already is, and a House without a Speaker will not be able to pass any legislation including, just by way of two examples, funding for Ukraine or another continuing resolution. They want to government to fail so that they can justify their opposition to anything that the government does.
