Friday Mailbag!
Let's open the mail!
I left legacy media to build something different: independent, honest political analysis that isn’t owned by corporations or parties.
I call balls and strikes—no matter who’s at bat—because what’s missing right now are referees, not cheerleaders ⚾.
If you want clear, concise takes that cut through the noise (without the cable-news theatrics), this is the newsletter for you 🎯.
Subscribe if you believe politics is better when someone just tells you what actually matters rather than just what you want to hear 🧠.
I am doing a livestream on my YouTube channel today at 1 pm eastern. Come hang out and ask questions! CLICK HERE.
Happy Friday!
We made it.

Q: Is it possible that with the Republican incumbents who were defeated in primary contests (Massie, Cornyn, etc) could upend Trumps various efforts in their remaining months, ie, Ballroom, war with Iran, weaponization fund, etc? They now have no reason to beholden to Trump. In fact, just the opposite. I see a wave of discharge petitions coming at Speaker.
A: You’re already seeing this play out! Take Thursday on Capitol Hill as an example.
First, the Senate decided to scrap their planned vote-a-rama on next year’s budget due to a rebellion among Republican members over the $1.776 billion slush fund the IRS wants to set up for people allegedly victimized by Joe Biden’s “lawfare.” The Senate went into recess for two weeks rather than vote!
Then House Republicans scrapped a planned vote on the War Powers Resolution because they knew they were going to lose it!
I think this is just the start — especially in the Senate. Earlier this week I listed 10 Senate Republicans who, for a variety of reasons, are, at minimum, Trump-skeptical at this point.
Trump may have shown he can beat Senators who cross him or are insufficiently loyal. The problem? Those Senators stick around for the rest of their terms — and have absolutely no reason to continue to be doggedly loyal to the president and his agenda.
Q: How do you reconcile Trump’s disastrous approval ratings with his continued iron grip on the Republican party?
