I left legacy media to build something different: independent, honest political analysis that isn’t owned by corporations or parties.
I call balls and strikes—no matter who’s at bat—because what’s missing right now are referees, not cheerleaders ⚾.
If you want clear, concise takes that cut through the noise (without the cable-news theatrics), this is the newsletter for you 🎯.
Subscribe if you believe politics is better when someone just tells you what actually matters — rather than just what you want to hear 🧠.
The message coming out of the Indiana primaries on Tuesday night was unmistakable: Donald Trump still rules the Republican party.
Trump had targeted 7 Republican state senators in the Hoosier State because they had voted against his push to re-open the congressional map in 2026 to create district lines more advantageous to the GOP.
Of the 7, five have already lost. A sixth — Sen. Spencer Deery — is ahead of his Trump-backed challenger by 3(!!!) votes. At the moment, only one Trump-targeted incumbent — Sen. Greg Goode — has won.
Trump, of course, took a victory lap on Truth Social:
The political reality is slightly more nuanced. While crossing Trump remains a bad strategic decision for any Republican trying to win a party primary, being tethered to Trump in a general election — where is he is deeply unpopular — could well doom them.
My friend Matt Lewis and I debated that conundrum in our weekly Wednesday chat. We also talked about:
