When I was in college at Georgetown in the mid 1990s, I listened to a lot of local sports radio. And to one show in particular: The Tony Kornheiser show.
Tony, at the time, was a local celebrity — the best known (and funniest) sports writer in town, plying his wares at the Washington Post.
Even after Tony hit it big on TV — “Pardon the Interruption,” aka the best show on TV, started in 2001 — I always considered myself a fan, first and foremost, of Tony on the radio.
So, when Tony’s producer approached me around 2010 — I don’t remember the specific date — about actually being on the show I was floored.
Well that was a decade ago now — and I can tell you that every time I am on, which, these days, is once every few weeks, I still feel that same joy and excitement.
I was on this morning. And, in the interest of giving you a peek into my life when I am not writing this newsletter, I thought I would share it with you.
We talked about my trip to Portugal, Tony’s first time back in the “PTI” studio since Covid and a whole lot of (college and pro) football.
The episode is below. It’s free to subscribe to the podcast — and, trust me, you won’t regret it!
And, speaking of subscriptions, I’d love if you became a subscriber to THIS newsletter — either in a free or paid capacity. It’s easy to do — just click this link:
