My first thoughts on the SCOTUS Louisiana ruling... ⚖️

My weekly conversation with Matt Lewis.

The easiest way to win in media today is simple: pick a side and tell your audience what it wants to hear. 🔥

But that’s not journalism.

I’m here to call balls and strikes — no matter who’s at the plate. ⚾

That means analysis you won’t get from the partisan echo chambers: clear-eyed, fact-based, and independent.

If you want that kind of coverage in your inbox, you need to subscribe.

Because without subscribers, there are no referees. 🧭

About halfway through my weekly chat with Matt Lewis this morning, the Supreme Court’s conservative majoity delivered a decision invalidating Louisiana’s congressional map and, in the process, likely ended the consideration of race when drawing district lines.

This is a VERY big deal.

I am working on a major explainer on What It All Means — so stay tuned for that in this space later this afternoon.

But I wanted to get my first thoughts on the ruling out to you ASAP. If you want just my take on the Louisiana ruling, scroll down the halfway-ish mark of the video above.

Matt and I also talked about a whole lot of other stuff including:

  • Trump’s 4 AM Truth Social Post on Iran 😳📱🔥

  • James Comey, “86 47,” seashells… and the vengeance of Donald Trump 🐚⚖️😬

  • House Republicans in disarray! 🤯🏛️⚠️

  • Would you take JD Vance or the field in 2028? 🤔🗳️🔥

  • A cool event Matt and I are doing next week! 🎤📅👀
