Well, it’s official: The 2024 general election will be Donald Trump vs Joe Biden.
We’ve, obviously, known this for a while now. But, in Tuesday’s primaries, both men formally secured the requisite number of delegates to be their party’s standard-bearers this fall.
It is, remarkably, a race that voters tell us they do not want. They think Biden is too old. They think Trump is too corrupt (and maybe too old too!). And they are united in their desire for two different candidates.
And yet, here we are. Trump and Biden are the nominees. One of them will win (I think!)
What a world!
This is your time to lead the conversation. In the comments section below, ask me ANYTHING you want. I will answer as many questions as I can tomorrow in this space.
(Sidebar: I am ALSO doing a live stream on my YouTube channel tomorrow at 1 pm. So tune into that!)
One final note: My Friday mailbag piece is for PAID subscribers only. Which means now is a REALLY good time to become one. Right now, it’s just $5 a month or $50 a year (or $240 if you want to be a “founding member”). That price WILL be going up on April 1. But if you subscribe today, you lock in the lowest price for the life of your subscription!
With the election seven-plus months away, how do we (you, me, your readers, and other rational people) navigate the daily landmine of the 24-hour news cycle that is focused on our broken government and this crazy, seems like everything is riding on it, election? I try to stay our away, or at least take breaks, but as Michael Corleone says, "I thought I was out and they pull me back in". Help!
How do you reconcile Trump losing 20-30% of the GOP primary voters yet leading Biden in head to head matchups?
