Well, gosh, color me shocked that 1) RFK Jr lied, and 2) that the confirming senators bought it hook, line and sinker. Seems lying to Congress is almost a requirement to be in the 47 administration.

Did they not learn from Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett?

I take some comfort in knowing that Susan Collins might be "concerned."

You can usually tell when these guys are lying. You can see their lips moving when they talk.

JIM LEACH's avatar

100% agree. And don't forget Patel, Noem, and any of the other agency heads. They all lied. Evidently most of the American people were the only ones who heard or read any of the things these clowns said out loud in public before they went before the Senate and completely contradicted themselves.

Dawn Kucera's avatar

yep. it must be one of the qualifying questions - right after - blind, dumb, loyalty to 47.

You can’t top this. Thank you

There's no excuse to vote for a nominee based on a "promise" - actions matter more than words. RFK had years of speaking & writing that make his views clear and he was patently unqualified regardless of what words he uttered in a confirmation hearing.

O the outrage for some committee no one has ever heard of or cared about.

Cmon man! Just another avenue to spew hate…..

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

C'mon man, how many people are going to die because of this? Are you that much of a slavish MAGAt that you don't care? Do you imagine the Angel of Death will bypass YOUR family?

And when ARE you finally going to post something on "Dutch's Substack?"

Lebron_is_king's avatar

Just ignore him. He's just a coward & a troll to try and stir up outrage. He never answers any direct questions, don't feed the trolls.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

This is what happens when you put a brain damaged junkie in charge of the nation's health.

The real crime here is that Cassidy, an MD, voted to confirm RFK Jr. This quack needs to be voted out next year. He's a spineless coward who put his own political career ahead of the country's well-being.

Dr J's avatar

This should be NO surprise that RFKJr did this.

Cassidy is to blame for a lot of this. His NO vote could have potentially avoided this mess-now it will

Be decades and generations to fix this mess.

Cassidy owns this fair and square.

I email his office about once a month and remind him that this is squarely on his shoulders.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

He's joined Ronny Jackson and Rand Paul in the Congressional Quack Caucus.

Not telling the truth is the standard for this administration!

And this may cost more lives than any other move!

Dutch's avatar

Don!

Did you live through the past 4 years?!?

Talk about not telling the truth!

People in glass houses…..

Sue's avatar

With the consequence of jeopardizing millions of lives? Hmm, I must have totally missed that in the prior administration..... SMH

Dave's avatar

What lame dishienst "whataboutism" that is a LIE in and of itself.

It's what we expect from Trump Cultists.

Kim Nesvig's avatar

Like from anyone in the Trump administration from the president on down, assume every statement from RFK JR to be a lie unless supported by substantial evidence to the contrary.

Dutch's avatar

The last administration, the entire Dem party, the liberal news media all lied to you for a full 4 years and your outraged by this?

🤔

Jeff Clabault's avatar

The Biden coverup was part of a plan to keep America from knowing what was going in with Bidens health. No bueno. The Trump/MAGA lies are institutional, and designed to fool the american people about the hundreds of illegal, indecent and amoral things Trump does on a daily..no, hourly..basis. BL- Biden is an old fool. Trump is a f'ing monster. You and your duped buddies may want to figure that one out, Dutch.

K Eck's avatar

Typical, name calling is all maga has to offer.

So sad that grown adults act like children and think it is somehow "genius".

TIS - Trump Infallibility Syndrome

Dutch's avatar

Tim,

You Dems really gotta come up with your own verbiage, coping the GOP is always gonna leave u in 2nd place, exactly where you are now. If you’re not winning you are….. well you can finish the rest.

Tim Dupay's avatar

Uh-oh. My light-hearted reply to your "TDS" comment has poked-the-bear. FWIW I'm a registered Republican, although I'm in the left end (barely existent) portion of the GOP. I don't care for Trump and his policies. But the extreme MAGAs seem to be very binary as it relates to Trump - either you love him or you are "deranged". Also, sell high, buy low. :-)

William m Gaffney's avatar

Stick with the stocks Dutch. You have a better chance of being correct

Dutch's avatar

Bill,

Time to take some profits and wait for a buying opportunity. Shhhhh, don’t tell anyone I told you…..

K Eck's avatar

I forgot to mention fox "news" which during the defamation court case, they settled by paying out 750,000 million dollars, evidence was introduced that showed how the fox "news" hosts, along with the executives, deliberately lied to their viewers, knowingly and deliberately lied to their viewers in order to maintain profits (by not chasing viewers away by telling them the truth that they did not want to hear)

So, talk about being outraged by lies, and years of lies?....nope-- crickets from the maga. Maga likes being lied to and approves of it.

K Eck's avatar

This admin, has based many of its policies on lies, this prez, this gop congress, the entite right wing press/blogesphere and podcast bros have lied to you multiple times, over and over, and are guaranteed to keep on lying to you and to us and to the world, all in service of enriching themselvs regardless of how much harm it causes any one, but you are NOT outraged about that, and instead cheer it on? 🙈 🙉

Rocket Master Man's avatar

You missed the key point. You mentioned it in passing. The key point is not that Kennedy lied to the senator. The key point is that the senator did not push back against the lie. This is the complete Trump takeover of the Republican Party the Senator tweeted that he is going to work with him to appoint new representatives. RFK Junior lied to the senator and instead of the senator calling him out, he accepted that behavior as completely normal. That is where our government has completely failed the people.

Tbird's Quiet Fight's avatar

And his judgement should be questioned.

NanceeM's avatar

His vote was cast, so he's no longer of any use.

John A Lazzaro's avatar

It seems a nominee can testify before Congress without answering the questions posed lie without consequence, and still be confirmed if endorsed by Trump. Even when the falsehood is exposed, there appears to be no accountability.

Mark Mills's avatar

I have seen this coming from the moment RFK Jr threw his support to Trump and joined his campaign. He lied multiple times in his confirmation hearings.

It reminds me of when Susan Collins voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, taking his word that he would respect Roe v. Wade as a precedent, despite years of a paper trail suggesting he would not.

TAS's avatar

Dk if media is partially to blame for this constant lying but i am sick and tired of hearing the expression, "Trump claimed (fill in the blank) WITHOUT EVIDENCE" Tell it like it is, Trump lied, Kennedy lied. Those should be the headlines.
