The Democratic National Convention starts today in Chicago.
To celebrate this quadrennial occasion, I am holding a SALE on paid subscriptions to this newsletter.
From today through midnight Thursday — when Vice President Kamala Harris closes the convention with her acceptance speech — you can get a monthly subscription to “So What” for $5 or a yearly subscription for $50 — an almost 20% savings from the regular rate!
This will be the LAST time before the election that a paid subscription will be discounted. So if you have been wavering on joining the ranks of paid subscribers, NOW is the time.
What do you get as a PAID subscriber?
First and foremost, access to ALL of my content — including my “Lines” pieces and my weekly Friday mailbag.
But that’s not all! You also get:
A 30-minute, one-on-one Zoom call with me. One on one. Me and you. No topics off limits!
Exclusive access to my weekly podcast “Name Your Mount Rushmore.” Every week we will pick a subject — candy, political slogans, ‘80s hair-metal bands — and debate who makes our personal Mount Rushmore in that category.
An exclusive Sunday email with a list of recommendations from yours truly — a podcast, an article, a YouTube video, a Substack, a song, a book, a TV show — that I think you will dig.
Need even more? I’ve got that!
Every night during the convention, I am going to be hosting a live chat between 10 pm and 11 pm via the Substack app. This chat will be for PAID subscribers only.
I am also going to be experimenting with Substack’s new LIVE video feature — they gave me exclusive access! — during the Democratic convention. (It will likely be a quick wrap-up after the night’s proceedings end.) That will also be exclusively for paid subscribers.
Now is the time! Subscribe!!!!
Hey fellow So What'ers! (I made that up) I'm a paid subscriber (have been since Spring 2023). This is well worth your investment. Chris is well worth the investment. Even without the discount. If you like Chris's analysis, subscribe! That's all I can say.
I am ready to subscribe but need clarification on my ability to comment on issues and events I see here. Is there a filtering process and if so what are the rules. Is there a content limit. How long are comments kept for viewing. Can comments be generally derogatory. For example, I am frequently dismayed by claims of Trump’s “toadies”. Obviously there is a line of decency and non violence that must be observed in subscriber comments.
