You remember Sean Spicer, right?
Well, Sean is still kicking around politics. And he has his own show called, appropriately enough, “The Sean Spicer Show.”
He somehow managed to land an interview with former President Donald Trump for the show! Ostensibly Trump was on to promote a documentary Spicer made called “Trump’s Front Row Joes,” about the men and women who attend virtually every rally the former president holds.
But, um, Trump ranged onto other subjects too.
Thanks to the amazing team at Listening Post, I was able to get my hands on a transcript of Spicer’s interview with Trump.
I went through it line by line and pulled out the stuff you need to see. It’s below.
This is hard work. But it’s also VERY important. Because no one else in American political media is going through these transcripts to see exactly what Trump (and other politicians) are actually saying day in and day out.
Because of the time required to do these transcript deep dives, this is a rare post that I put behind the paywall. You can guarantee that you see everything Trump says by becoming a paid subscriber today. It’s just $6 a month or $60 for the entire year!
To the lines!
“We started the rallies and we noticed there are certain groups of people that were just in love with what I was saying, but really in love with the country.”
“Just in love with what I was saying.” And away we go!
“And then I said, when that group, this was early on because we've done many rallies and they've been getting bigger and bigger.”
“We have a group of women that are unbelievable women from North Carolina. And they have gone to, I think, 97 rallies. And in this case, they're very well-to-do. They're very, everything is like, they're always so beautifully groomed. You take a look at the way they are, the dresses, everything, and you notice them right away.”
“Always so beautifully groomed.” Deeply weird.
“They like to get there three, four days early. They'll pitch a tent. They'll wait. They'll listen to the great music. And it becomes an event. It becomes a little like before a football game.”
Wanna go tailgate at the Trump rally? For sure!
“I think they really like me a lot, but I think they see that I'm the one that can fix it.”
Modesty, the name is Donald Trump.
“I really believe that even though the fake news media, which is pretty prevalent, but even though the fake news media doesn't talk about it too much, they didn't like to talk about the Afghanistan disaster.”
This “sentence” would make a grammar teacher quit his job.
“They rarely talk about things that are really the most important things, like the voter, like election fraud, like voter ID, like so many of the things that you have to talk about.”
The news doesn’t talk about election fraud because, well, there is not now nor has there ever been widespread election fraud.
“You know, they're all over the internet. I don't know if you've ever seen, but they are over the Internet more than anything you've ever seen.”
The “Front Row Joes” are all over the Internet — “more than anything you’ve ever seen.”
“And Truth Social has become a very important factor. I think this is the place where everybody wants to be.”
“Nearly two-and-a-half years after its launch, Truth Social is struggling to hang onto its small U.S. user base.” — CNBC, May 2024
“So I think Truth Social is the hot one. That's the place people want to be.”
Hot Ones, you say?
