Donald Trump sat down with Mark Levin, one of his favorite conservative commentators, over the weekend.
I got the transcript — and went through it line by line.
This is one of a few posts each week I put behind the paywall. That’s because I am really the only person working to find and analyze the actual words of Trump as well as Kamala Harris and other prominent politicians.
It’s hard work but I think important work. If you want access to these lines pieces as well as all the other content I am creating, become a paid subscriber today! It’s $6 a month or $60 for the year.
To the Lines!
“Amazing -- really amazing, I felt very clearheaded. I knew I got hit in the ear. I felt I was one 100 percent okay.”
"So many people have asked me what happened, 'tell us what happened please,' and therefore, I'll tell you exactly what happened, and you'll never hear it from me a second time, because it's actually too painful to tell.” — Donald Trump, July 19.
And away we go!
“And he -- you know, the daughters were there and he wanted to protect them. He got over and he got hit. He got hit hard, pretty much instantaneously over.”
Trump describing the death of firefighter Corey Comperatore at the attempted assassination: “He got hit hard, pretty much instantaneously over.”
“He was really hit hard. And I think it was probably instantaneous.”
Just such a weird to describe someone who was shot and killed.
“The other thing is the crowd, people -- the people that study crowd control, that's after, they said when a bullet goes off, everyone stampedes always. Nobody stamp -- they saw I was in trouble. It's, you know, make America great again.”
Trump has taken to saying this — that people didn’t flee the scene when bullets started flying because they wanted to make sure he was ok. I mean….I don’t know.
“It's -- we had a crowd -- so big, tens of thousands of people, as far as the eye could see. And at first, you know, when you have that crowd and you're speaking -- you sort of, you -- something hit you hard but you don't know if you want to go down.”
Usually when you are shot, you, uh, “go down.”
“I think that, you know, my movement was quick because I -- I heard people screaming, ‘It's bullets, go down, go down, go down’. So I think pretty sure because I couldn't have done it as easily as it looked on the -- on the tape.”
I legit have no idea what he is saying here.
“You know, the doctors saved two people that most people thought couldn't be saved, and these were local doctors in Pennsylvania, Butler area.”
I mean, “local doctors” saved them! That’s even more amazing! 🙄
