Donald Trump gave the first sit-down interview of his second presidency on Wednesday — just two days after being sworn-in.
Somehow, Sean Hannity landed it 😂😂😂
I went through the entire hour-long interview line by line. It was a doozy!
This post is behind the paywall. These “lines” posts take a significant amount of time and energy. And I am the only person in the media doing this sort of forensic examination of Trump’s words!

To the Lines!
“I felt that we shouldn't have had to necessarily be here. Could have been done. A lot of work could have been -- it would have been over.”
Hannity asked Trump what it felt like to walk back into the White House. This answer to that question is, well, weird. I guess he is saying he could have been finishing up his 2nd term if he had won in 2020? Anyway…away we go!
“We have numbers that came out, 11,000 people that murdered are now free and walking around in our country.”
He’s saying that there are 11,000 undocumented immigrants who have committed murder walking free in the U.S.. I did a bunch of digging and could find no evidence to back up this claim. None.
“If you look at Venezuela, their crime rate is down now, 78 percent. Because they took their street gangs and they moved them into the United States.”
Crime is down somewhat in Venezuela — but not nearly by the numbers Trump is arguing. Also, there appears to be no evidence that the drop in crime is tied to Venezuela sending criminals to the United States.
“I don't know. Maybe he did. I really don't know.”
Hannity asked Trump if Joe Biden had told him “welcome home” when he arrived at the White House. Trump first said “no” — then said this. Oooooookay. (Reporting says Biden did say “welcome home.”)
“I just do it. I get it done. I get things done. I'm good at getting things done.”
Same.
“As you know we had a great election in 2016. I had a much better election in 2020. And if I didn't have that election, I wouldn't have run.”
Uh, right. Because if you had won in 2020, you would be term limited from running again. Right?
“Had I got -- gotten like 50 million, 40 million or 60 million, I would never have run. But that was like a poll. So, but I had a different attitude. Too big to rig.”
Trump is saying because he got 74 million votes in 2020, he decided to run again because “that was like a poll.” But in that same “poll” Joe Biden got 81 million votes. So….
“I love Oklahoma. 77 out of 77 districts, and that's never been done before. I did it three times. I mean, think of it, three times, never been done. Ronald Reagan had the record 56 out of 77. I got 77 out of 77. So, you have to love a place like that. I love Oklahoma.”
