As I was navigating the Tampa airport — the whole layout makes NO sense — on Tuesday afternoon, President-elect Donald Trump was at Mar-a-Lago, fielding questions from the media for the better part of an hour.
He proposed renaming the Gulf of Mexico. Insisted buying (or taking over) Greenland was a real thing he thinks is important. And, well, lots (and lots) of other stuff too.
I am committed to closely tracking what Trump says — now and for the next four year — because a) I think it is super important to document how he thinks and b) no one else in mainstream media is doing this work.
To that end, these “lines” posts are behind the paywall. I hope you consider becoming an investor in what I am building here so that you can read all of the transcript breakdowns I do of Trump (and other prominent politicians) over the coming weeks, months and years.
How do you become a paid subscriber? Simple! It’s $6 a month or $60 for the year!

“Many things are happening that are exciting, very exciting for our country.”
I need to open more of my conversations like this. “Many things are happening that are very exciting. For me.” And away we go!
“We have powers that haven't really been used, in terms of environmental.”
“In terms of environmental.”
“They just -- we had a landslide election. We won every swing state, we won the popular vote by millions and millions of people. Nobody even knows how many people. Millions.”
Nobody knows? Trump got 77,301,997 votes to 75,017,626 votes for Vice President Kamala Harris. Which means he won the popular vote by 2,284,371 votes. #Math
“And, you know, they told me that we're going to do everything possible to make this transition to the new administration very smooth. It's not smooth because they're doing that, they're playing with the courts, as you know. They've been playing with the courts for four years.”
Smooth transition, you say?
“We had borders that were sealed and beautiful.”
“Beautiful.”
“I defeated ISIS, as you know.”
“I.”
“We had one army, 300,000. We had another one 5- or 600,000, looking -- getting ready. We had 5,000 people in the middle. I said to a general, ‘How do 5,000 people do in that case?’ And the general just looked at me, said, ‘Not well, sir, not well.’”
“Sir” alert! First one of 2025!
