Here’s New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams on a super-secret plan allegedly playing out right now in Democratic party circles:
Obama’s wife is scratching to maybe be our next president. Her husband’s helping. Pay attention….Reportedly, and I’m being told, “Obama has polled donors.”
His plan? Around May, Biden announces he’s not running (even mentally). The so-called plot is that come the August convention, Michelle gets nominated.
Next step, Hunter’s father — the temp — drops out just before that convention.
For now, he still play-acts like he’s a real candidate.
Announcing today our dodo-in-chief would have to stop quacking and become a lame duck.
Their plan is currently being tweaked…
…Mrs. Obama’s team has already sent a survey to heavy-duty donors asking how they’d feel about her as the candidate.
The process has begun.
Now. This is Cindy Adams. A gossip columnist. For the Rupert Murdoch-owned New York Post.
And, just to be VERY clear at the top here: I DO NOT think Michelle Obama is a) running a secret campaign to be the Democratic nominee or b) ever going to run for elected office.
“The reason why I don’t want to run for president … my sense is that, first of all, you have to want the job,” she said in 2018. Which seems pretty definitive to me!
That said, I DO find it very interesting that — in comments and questions I get from readers and other political junkies — that the question of Michelle O. DOES keep coming up. Regularly. Despite her doing nothing — as far as I can tell — to feed the rumor mill.
As the New York Times noted in a piece in the last week:
Even though Ms. Obama has repeatedly ruled out any presidential interest, OddsChecker, an online bookmaker, on Friday gave her nearly even odds of winning the presidential election with Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor who placed third in Iowa on Monday. Both were behind Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden. The site put Mr. Newsom in fifth place, well ahead of Mr. DeSantis.
So, why does this keep coming up?
