The big news out of Washington Thursday is that Jim Jordan is (mostly) suspending his bid to be Speaker of the House — and getting behind a push to extend Speaker pro tempore Patrick McHenry’s governing power through January.
You might be tempted to assume that Jordan’s decision effectively ends the chaos in which the Republican-led House has found itself in for the past two-plus weeks — providing an off-ramp for the paralyzed GOP.
But, I’d be very careful making such an assumption. Here’s why.
