One of the prerequisites to getting into the first Republican presidential debate in August is to sign a so-called “loyalty” pledge — that you will support the party’s nominee in the fall.

The problem? Donald Trump made a mockery of the same pledge in 2016 — and there’s no way that he will do anything different this time around.

The pledge, therefore, is a joke.
