It seems we have Bruce Springsteen to thank for the new album by The Gaslight Anthem.
“When Bruce Springsteen said I should write a duet for us, I think my head exploded,” Gaslight Anthem’s lead singer Brian Fallon said. “It will never get old to me that one of the greatest songwriters in the world, and one of my hero’s voices, will forever be captured in a song I wrote at a small wooden desk, in October, in New Jersey.”
That song is the title track of the band’s new album — their first since 2014. It’s called “History Books.”
Pretty great, right? On this week’s playlist, there are a few tunes from the new album that I think you’ll dig as well as some other good stuff I’ve been listening to this week. (And, if you like the new Gaslight Anthem album, make sure to check out their seminal “The ‘59 Sound.”)
