I now try to spend at last two hours a day reading — I have that luxury working for myself these days.
That practice means I read A LOT of books. My list of what I’ve been reading — and enjoying — is below. Would love to know what you’re reading and liking too.
“The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle” by Haruki Marukami. Mesmerizing. Dreamlike. One of the strangest and most affecting books I have read in a long time.
“Wolf Hall” by Hilary Mantel. It’s been on my to-read list for years but just now got to it. It’s not an easy read. But it is a rewarding one. Looking forward to the next two books.
“Well of Ascension” by Brandon Sanderson. This is book 2 of the “Mistborn” series by Sanderson. LOVE the world building and the characters.
“Child 44” by Tom Rob Smith. I LOVED “Cold People” by Smith. This is a very different book — the first in a trilogy about the Russian spy services. Still love it.
“The Winners” by Fredrik Backman. This is the final book of the “Beartown” trilogy about how hockey shapes a small rural community in (I think) Sweden. Hard to put down.
“A Court of Thorn and Roses” by Sarah J. Maas. I’m about halfway through this one. It’s the first of a five-book fantasy series, which is right up my aisle.
“Pineapple Street” by Jenny Jackson. The reviews of this one were too good for me to pass it up. I have just started it though — will report back once I finish.
I just finished Power Players. Interesting read. I highly recommend it. :)
I am now reading Unscripted. So far, it is very good
The world that was build in "A Court of Thorn and Roses" was amazing. I got a bit frustrated with the
Hunger Games" vibe. But really enjoyed the next 3 books in the series. I was done with it by then. I need a vacation to tackle "Wolf Hall" which I have at the end of the month. Keep reading.
