Every few days, a member of the “So What” community sends me an email or a Substack note or a direct message on X.
These notes are usually in reaction to something I’ve written and almost always include this line: “This is why I subscribe.”
It’s not always the same reason.
Some people really like my “lines” pieces (like this one on the Matt Gaetz Ethics report).
Others are fans of my weekly video conversations with NBC’s Chuck Todd.
And the biggest chunk — at least that I hear from — decide to become paid subscribers because of the more personal stuff I write about, like this piece from earlier this week.
No matter what your “why” is, I am hugely grateful for everyone who has become an investor in this endeavor. As I work to build and expand it in the coming year, I need your support to make some of the things I am dreaming about become reality.
Which is why — through midnight tonight — I am running a SALE on subscriptions. Click below to get 20% of the regular monthly or annual price of a paid subscription:
What do you get for $5 a month or $50 a year? ALL of my daily content, sure. But also:
A 15-minute, one-on-one Zoom call with me. One on one. Me and you. No topics off limits!
Exclusive access to my weekly Monday conversation with Chuck Todd.
An exclusive Sunday email with a list of recommendations from yours truly — a podcast, an article, a YouTube video, a Substack, a song, a book, a TV show — that I think you will dig.
Exclusive access — as of January 1 — to “Chris Crucial,” my nightly newsletter on everything you need to know from the day in politics.
I promise that if you become a paid subscriber, I will make it worth your investment. I very much hope you join us. And do it by midnight tonight to get the deal!
Chris - probably like others will say, I subscribe because you come across as genuine & authentic. Yes, I love the political stuff and that you're pretty balanced (I know that annoys some).
But honestly, the articles I've enjoyed most are those like your Cooperstown post, your post about travel time with your son and the recent post on your father-in-law.
I'm Team Chris and looking forward to what's in store for 2025. Appreciate your work & best of luck in the New Year.
Chris- I subscribe because you're a very genuine person and I do greatly appreciate your non-partisan analysis, something we need a lot more of in this world. I am also amazed at how you can say the same thing several times (such as if someone repeats a question in a live stream) and you never sound annoyed or like you're going through the motions. You're always giving us your best. Hope 2025 is good to you and your family and business!
