Happy bday to you! My husband turned 75 on Tuesday and yesterday we celebrated our 48th anniversary...

So yes, there are many things we are thankful for also. I specially agree with Messi and Maggie Haberman! Sports with our 4 grand kids and being able to still work and enjoy our lives.

You have a long way to go and many fans like me wishing you well!

So positive, Chris!! When my husband was laid off, he was able to go to our son's cross country meets...and loved doing it. You are one of my favorite writer/media persons!!! Enjoy these moments while you can. They are precious.

This is great.

Chris, just as a word of encouragement, I want to say that I've enjoyed reading your work for many years. I appreciate your enthusiasm, and your analysis.

And I'm still proud of the t-shirt I won in one of your election prediction contests many years ago when you were at The Fix.

A Happy 47th to you, Chris and another 47 to grow on. I barely remember my 47th, but find joy in remembering the accumulation of a life of the mind. "And yet I live to say 'this things to do.'"

If you like O'Brian's stuff, try David Cornwell's Sharpe series. Start with Sharpe's Tiger. Same era. British Army instead of the Royal Navy.
