I enjoy reading your column throughout the week. Sometimes, an event will occur, and I will think to myself, "I can't wait to see what Chris has to say about this" and (almost) every time, you respond soon thereafter with a worthwhile reflection. Your writings are definitely worth the increase, and thanks in advance for helping me to maintain my sanity during this presidential election year. Now, let's hear it for 14,000+ subscribers!
you AND the news letter are worth the paltry price i pay. I am a Univ prof in a dance dept.... The rumors of tons of pay, lots of time off to pursue a research agenda, lunch hrs spent swimming might accrue to faculty in the sciences and business... the arts? not so much. Nevertheless, i consider this to be a totally justifiable expense, much cheaper than therapy.
thanks for the work

PS I might have missed this in one of your "ads" for the site. Do not forget that membership allows you to be part of a bigger community. I very much enjoy reading what others have commented on, your responses, etc. The Trump years have taken a remarkable toll on our nation and on many of us personally. I need to se that i am not the only other non crazy person in the universe.
I do not think so CapeJ. The way it was sold was to lock in your price now before the increase. I think you existing paid subscribers are good to go on their current pricing.
Chris, I confess that I was aware of your work but didn’t read too much prior to Substack. So glad I found you! Happy you can provide honest content without the “corporate overlords” (half joke) changing your voice and views! #subscribed
If you are not a subscriber and you’re reading this, you’ll be missing out if you don’t subscribe l Chris’ incisive comments are well worth $7 per month. Heck, the “____things” pieces alone are worth more than that!
Hi, I became a founding member. One suggestion, you should make the founding member a lifetime subscription. For many business reasons, and for the fact that you are getting over 10X the yearly sub price out of one person, if you made it a lifetime subscription, you might get more folks to do it. BTW, I'm a tea drinker, does that change the deal?
I need a few regular political commentators I can trust, and there’s nobody better than you at this. If anyone is reading this and waffling about a paid subscription: we’re going into a desperate period in our history, and yammering blowhards are everywhere. You’re going to need someone who knows politics and posts constantly, and it ought to be a person you trust to be honest and perceptive, rather than a person you trust to pander to you. Chris Cilizza is the best single source for political info. I read Politico, with all their great writers and resources, and I’d give up Politico before I gave up Chris.
Dito to last comment. I di have a question. I will continue to subscribe annually. Is the raise applicable now or at my renewal which is in June I think. Thanks again.
A couple of things. First, this is a high-value proposition. Well worth the subscription cost. Second, I am a paid subscriber, but I don't remember exactly when I subscribed. Can I assume Substack will remind me that I'm due to renew?
I missed you when you left previous place. I'm so happy for your success and I enjoy your columns.
THANK YOU!

YES! That is a GREAT point. And thanks for the kind words.
Glad to have been a paid subscriber since pretty much day one!
TY!
Is the price going up for existing annual paid subscribers?
Nope. Not until your subscription period runs out.
I do not think so CapeJ. The way it was sold was to lock in your price now before the increase. I think you existing paid subscribers are good to go on their current pricing.
That's right, Phil.
Congrats on reaching 13K!
Thanks!
You and your writing are worth it!
That is so kind. Thank you!
I am a paid subscriber and love it. I'm happy to pay more
Thanks, Keith!

This is a good idea. Let me see if I can figure it out.
Glad. I like you, obviously.
But 1K a year, maybe not so much.
But enough to give you a jump start and keep you going, very much so.
I totally get it!
Funny on 'tea drinker'...!

Good luck.

Absolutely. You will get a renewal note when the time comes.
Hey Chris!
You are well worth the price! Keep doing what you’re doing. You provide a much needed perspective.
I am trying to do just that Karen. Thank you!
