A big part of the reason we are so polarized is that our politicians know that they don’t have to compromise. Their seat is safe, and the only real threat they face is if someone more extreme than them runs against them in the primary.

The only way to fix the problem...or at least lessen it's impact...would be to use a grid style method of districting, with all 50 states using the same method. (Picture a chess board superimposed over the map.)

Letting states gerrymander at will is antithetical to a fair democratic system.

I know you will like these types of chart that try to portray Biden in bad light. But before rejoicing take a good look at Trump's, Obama's and Bush's chart. You will then realize that the your Gallup chart is meaningless. I wonder why (I guess I shouldn't anymore) you always cheery pick the charts that try to portray Biden badly. An independent and objective person will also show charts that highlight the numerous and laudable achievements of Biden, like the trend of falling inflation, the GDP, the consumer sentiments, the stock market , National crime rates, unemployment rate, etc. My point is that there are so many great charts that honestly show the great things that Biden has done but these are blatantly ignored in favor of negative charts for Biden. Common man

You're right. And there are columnists who are really mad about this, like Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post, but the actual reporters don't do anything.
