You've been on Substack for well over a year, so here's an idea you could go with:

On a regular basis, revisit an "On This Exact Day Last Year" post, see how things said then have aged, look at how much that post's issue (or issues) have remained relevant a year later or been lost and forgotten, and so on.

I love our community, too! Thanks, Chris, for building it!

Your written newsletters/analysis (and the what-Trump-said) are the primary reason I'm paid, and definitely the main reason I'll definitely renew.

How exciting! This sounds very fun and interesting. As for the poll, I just want to say that I feel strongly that I already get my money's worth in a variety of ways from your substack. I will absolutely be renewing when my annual subscription is due in 9 months. And all of the items listed on the poll sound great and I would appreciate them. But they would just be a bonus. I've even taken your advice to heart to support journalism, and now subscribe to 2 additional substacks suggested by you. (Yes, I want brownie points, lol!)

Out of curiosity...have you and JVL discussed doing a monthly, either podcast or zoom? You two would pull a big crowd and would cross pollinate your audiences

I totally enjoyed the group chats during the "debates". In fact the ones that you didn't host the chat I chose not to watch. To me the more interaction between you and the members of this community the better. Of course I think I signed up the first day you had the sign in. I definitely missed your videos on CNN.

I am already a paid subscriber. I like the daily summary. Anything else is bonus. Keep up the great work.

Hi Chris. I’m a paid subscriber, but it took me a while. I have subscription fatigue. Everybody has something for which they want you to subscribe!

Hey Chris, sorry if you’ve answered this previously and I missed it. But, when it comes time for my subscription to renew, will I be notified, or is it an auto-renewal type of thing? Thanks for the great reads. It’s like getting a present in my inbox every day!

Chris - I.AM.SO.EXCITED!!!! Cannot wait for the first Zoom call. Thank you for what you do in this space -- provide a calming tone in an otherwise maddening political world. You make tolerating the intolerable just a little bit easier. Kudos, sir.

I have been a paid subscriber for several months and it's definitely worth the money. I agree that the community is awesome!

This sounds awesome. I'm really exited for next week!

For the Zoom chat: I think you can start talking and then people raise our hands and you call on people? And obv if people feel more comfortable, they can drop questions in the chat?

I voted for deep dive into Senate/House race. I'm a sucker for stuff like 10 senate seats to watch and congressional races to watch, especially since I live in a competitive district. Also, post more Veepstakes. I love that stuff.

I'm also always down for more Q-n-As, but I appreciate you always do a mailbag and a live youtube chat.

As a paid subscriber, I really appreciate the value provided. I subscribe to another substack, and while it's a different format, there's usually a post once a week at most along with a weekly chat. Two posts a day five days a week is quite the deal.

You bring a valuable perspective on the events of the day. Always thought provoking and insightful.

I for one would enjoy frequent posts that can be short with something more in depth weekly.

I think sharing insights on the story behind the story of the day most interesting.

Thanks for all you are doing to bring thoughtful people together!

Yeah, love it! Private (or small group) chats would help me. On a related note, when you raised the monthly charge to 7, you formalized the “founding member” as $1000 a year. That’s frankly steep, and you got pushback from a few of us proposing $1000 for a LIFETIME founding membership. That I would consider, while the per annum rate is a nonstarter.

Yay! Sounds great! 😊😊
