Melania is a phony. A gold digging phony.

Of course she is going to come out with this fake MAGA persona after hardly saying anything even during her years as first “lady” (she is NO real “lady”) that just so happens to be when she is trying to sell a ghost written book.

I am VERY disappointed that Chris included a link to help her sell her glop.

The main market for her dribble are MAGA suckers who will buy anything with Trump’s name or image on it.

Her whole life is a grifter just like her scummy husband. Who believes that she married Donald because he’s such a great guy and treats women with respect???

Go away Melania. Just go away.

This. Exactly.

Meh. She has alimony and an inheritance to protect. Always follow the money, Chris.

I also recognize that as a journalist you’re probably loath to make such accusation, but it’s pretty clear to anyone who’s been paying attention to her past words and actions (that are consistent with not really loving the man) that with this statement she’s merely making an extra premium payment on that policy that keeps her financial figure intact—something she’s likely been doing since the day she married him. After all, she’s nearly 25 years her junior and most certainly doesn’t want to hump it for the rest of her life.

It’s just a pity that she’s also willing to sell the country down the river to save her hide.

Not all unlike her husband. Job 1 for him? Stay out of jail.

Indeed. I'm a fan of his analysis -- which is why I subscribe -- but he's totally missed it here. Sure, she parrots the expected talking points but is she out there with him or campaigning on her own? Her empty statements speak a lot less than her (lack of) action on behalf of Convicted Felon Trump.

Don't forget, the absolutely disgusting revelation that she was paid to speak at his campaign appearances. What other first lady ever was paid to speak for her husband?

Melania is despicable too. I think trump can’t help himself, she chooses to enable him.

Gaetz - investigating his sex life with adult women as a single man - problem: one of them apparently wasn’t an adult woman. And by the way - how long have they been investigating him? The Warren Commission nor the 9/11 investigation didn’t take this long.

Congress - these people get paid $174,000 or so a year. The kid working at McDonalds for $7.25 gets more done.

How much was Melania paid to say those things in that interview? She is fully in with the family grift. Just terrible.

Matt Gaetz as governor of Florida is a terrible idea.

ditto on both.

I can't believe that it has not been bigger news that she was actually paid by the campaign to appear on his behalf. That is disgusting.

Wonder how much he paid her for the interview today.

As god is my witness!!! I am a professor of dance. i was working with a local group on a score for a piece i was choreographing. As i listened to the fantastic sounds i realized that it ...yes! needed more cowbell. I turned to the group and told them that it gave me the greatest joy to say "i could use a little more cowbell". As very young people they had no idea to what i was alluding, they could barely understand me as i was laughing so hard. oh, you made my day!!

thanks

Melanoma is nothing but a gold digger.

She doesn't deserve a second of attention.

For four years she thumbed her nose at America and the world.

Let's return the one finger salute to her.

It's amazing to watch the legion of family values voters elevate this repulsive blob of well formed genetic material into a semblance of a devoted wife and First Lady.

How quickly we forget her stay at Walter Reed Hospital to combat her "kidney" condition and how her seemingly loving husband conveniently forgot to travel 20 minutes to check up on her.

And those malfunctioning "kidneys " never mentioned again.

Nor should we forget that it was an open secret in DC that she spent most of her time at her parents suburban home instead of the White House.

Sorry Melancholy, we truly don't care.

I'd rather spend time with her than with Mooshelle/Big Mike. Since we're throwing out tacky insults.

I'm sure you would. You might want to check her interview and calculate how little time she actually spends with her husband. There's a place for you! James Carville did a wonderful video on the topic this week. You'll love it.

Has the media really dropped the ball on how she became a legal citizen?

She got an Einstein visa!!! WTF!!!

I think that every time I am forced to consider her existence in this campaign. Seriously, wtf indeed!

Melania said "something was watching over him". Yea, Mephistopheles.

Re Gaetz- if that weasily, unlikeable slimeball gets elected as Florida's governor, it may be a sign that the former Republican Party is gone..for good.

Well, I agree with one thing you said about Melania, and that she and Trump are cut from the same cloth — they are transactional and look out for themselves. It is pretty widely reported that they don’t live together and are rarely in each other’s company. She reportedly has a long term boyfriend who is head of security for Tiffany’s in Trump Tower. She reportedly refused to move from NY to DC when he was president, until she got her post-nup renegotiated. Then, there are the public allegations (well substantiated) that he cheated on her with a porn star and a former Playboy Playmate. Given that track-record, very few things inspire a lot of loyalty and warm feelings of love in the way that gobs and gobs of money do. She just has to wait out his lifespan, and she is set up for good, and so is Barron. She leaves, and she and her son are significantly less well off.

I do agree with you that she holds no love for the left. I think she views her public humiliation at being cheated on as the fault of the left as much as it was Trump’s fault — but the left isn’t paying her anything. I also think she recoiled from the anger and criticism from the left on everything from her plagiarizing Michelle Obama’s speech, to digging up the Rose Garden, to her sharply cold White House Christmas decorations. I think she also worries the hate will spill onto Barron as he gets old enough to really experience the loathing. Meanwhile, she gets adoration from MAGA world who see her as classy and strong and whatever other traits they project upon her. If she keeps them happy, she has years of grift she can perpetrate on them when Trump dies. She can auction his stuff, sell more of his cut up suits and other trinkets, and then at the very end, if she wants, she can write a real tell-all book (ghost written, of course) if the rest of the family puts Barron on the outside looking in.

Any way you cut it, I don’t think her spewing out some talking points every few years and showing up for a pan awkward kiss at the convention should be construed as undying love and a deep well of philosophical support.

With respect to the Gaetz case, let us not forget that there is a young woman whose existence many have erased from memory and who will probably suffer the most. So sad and humbling.

Look at these comments!

What a pathetic group of lunatics!

A wife supporting her husband is something the left abhors?

It’s really, to borrow a word, weird.

P. T. Barnum was right.

She should be supporting her husband. Yes, you are right. Melania is a rare kind of woman to have married Trump. She was able to look past his history of troubled former marriages and philandering ways during those marriages. She has mentioned how she sees unique qualities in Trump that many others can't see because he hides it so well from the world. I loved their humor in the Howard Stern interview and how open they were about well, you know. Perfect couple together and may they stay married to each other forever.

New York City mayor is an awful job. The police union has you by the you know what. You have no control over the subway, which is what people care about the most. The NYC press corps is unrelenting.

It gives you a national platform, but for what? The last three mayors ran for president and combined to win one primary: American Samoa.

It helped end Giuliani and DeBlasio's marriages

From what I have read, Melania is just like DonOLD. They are apparently two peas in a pod.

What I am really trying to confirm is that she gets paid for appearing with him. Not that this would surprise me, but it would be nice to know if that was true and would explain why she's been seen so little on the campaign trail with him.

The SNL 'More Cowbell' skit is one of the best. Ranks up there with the 'Bass-O-matic' and 'Shimmer'.
