Yes, PA is key. Walz is great, but there will be a lot of second-guessing if Kamlal loses PA. My bet is she wins it b/c Trump is alienating the Philly suburb voters and the enthusiasm for Kamala should help with turnout. Kudos to Kamala for helping down-ballot races. Winning is nice, but without a working majority, it's very difficult to make progress.
I completely agree with you Chris that whoever wins Pensylvania wins the Presidency in November. I do think that the Democrats have some advantages here. I think the State has the DNA of the Democratic Party in it. They have voted more for the Democrats than they have for Republicans. ( I stand to be fact checked here). The State has a very popular Democratic Governor and their two Senators are also Democrats. And also Trump won the state in 2016 by some 40, 000 votes whereas Biden won the State in 2020 by double 40 000.(some 80,000 votes)
I am cautiously optimistic that Harris will win Pennsylvania and the Presidency in November.
Ok I know the Trump is untouchable within the GOP and to speak ill of him has terrible repercussions. But if I were a down ballot GOP candidate and the money raised is going to pay Trump’s defense bills I would be steaming at least a little. But it doesn’t matter does it?
The GOP's (Lara Trump's) support of Dumpy's legal bills is a huge mistake. YAY!! Their allegiance to the orange stain is incomprehensible, but I'm not going to argue about it. If/when the Republicans lose up and down the ballot, it'll be interesting to see if anybody acknowledges that by paying Dumpy's legal bills they screwed themselves. If they're smart, they'll realize it, stop paying those bills, and turn on him. But that means admitting that worshipping Dumpy was a mistake.
100% with you on PA. I love Walz but I was worried about this choice over Shapiro. What do you think about the perverse incentives here for Shapiro? Like, if he goes all in and does everything he can to elect Harris and she wins, then his ticket to the White House is shot. But if he phones it in and only does just enough to campaign for her in PA, if Harris loses, then Shapiro is among the top contenders for a 2028 bid.
Shapiro is still young(51) and could still run successfully in 8 years. In the meantime, should Harris win the Presidency, there will certainly be opportunities for Shapiro to burnish his resumé via a juicy appointment or cabinet position. Walz was a great pick for this cycle, and Josh Shapiro knows it. He’ll be a campaign asset in Pennsylvania.
Living just over the PA state line in Delaware, I can see that DJT is spending big bucks on giant electric billboards on major routes. But not using the 'Make America Great Again' slogan. Instead, 'Achieve The American Dream' and 'Land Of The Free Home Of The Brave'.
PA is a purple state. The blue-ish part keeps growing as a meds & eds & finance region located west & north of Philly. Central & western PA are more red, but low/no growth.
Shapiro: He needs to stop schmoozing the media and get back to his day job. Highways around Philly are 3rd-world quality, trash everywhere, constant potholes. And while burning gas in one of the many backups on I-95, there are great views of crumbling housing projects. Add in the thorny problem of too many old subpar state teachers colleges that exist only because they are the major employer in their (remote) region.
PA, WI, NC +2.5 Trump. MI +4. Harris wins the rest. Based on current polling + state polling misses in 2020 + Trump historical drift upwards as the election draws near.

Hey GOP....playing with the devil never works out well. You should have read more Bible.
I heard they're only $49.95....

Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania if only there was a very popular governor to pick as a running mate……

Would love a So What meet-up somewhere in Luzerne or Lackawanna County before the election!

Good on KH releasing funds to help down ballot. If she loses, the key to maintaining our Republic may be the Dems winning the House.
