Yes, he is old, too. And if Dems aren’t running ads of Trump explaining how he just noticed that U and S spell both us and U.S. next year it’s political malpractice.

One thing I’ve observed about mental decline, which applies here, is that those such as Joe Biden who start with great mental acuity can afford to decline a bit and still be incredibly sharp. However, those tools that weren’t particularly sharp in the first place (ahem, person, woman, man, camera..) can’t afford to get any duller.

Trump isn’t just too old, he’s too nuts to be President.

I have said it before, it is perception. Biden is an 80 year old man, he is aging gracefully and looks great for an 80 year old man. Trump, on the other hand, does whatever he does to that hair on his head, which looks ridiculous. He uses orange make up, which looks bizarre but it covers the face making it look more “youthful??” If Trump were to cut his hair and not color it, did not wear make up, I think his perception may change. IMO, neither of them should be running if age is factor. However, it’s what we have and Biden needs to get ahead of this. The campaign will need to flood the airwaves with Trumps gaffes.

Exactly. Joe Biden is what we've got, which is a lot more than we've had some years. You go to battle with the weapons you have, not what you wish you had.

It's all about covering up the "age spots." Since Trump in German/Scottish his complexion is quite fair, therefore age spots will stick as a sore...age spot.

Uncle Joe characteristically wears his in his usual "it is what it is" attitude. Hey, I'm 80 years old, I don't look like I'm half my age.

The Secessionist-In-Chief is terrified at the thought that he isn't "attractive." And his greatest failing is in understanding that "his attraction" was never his looks and his intellect...it was his money and celebrity.

Well, it turns out that he hasn't the money he claims, and his celebrity has turned into notoriety.

I am of the opinion that one should age gracefully. We will all be there at some point and it is what it is. Trump just looks like an orange mess and his hair?? No words. If he wants to use make up, wear something that looks more natural than a oopha loompa.

RE: "He weighed 243 pounds (he is 6’3”) in his 2019 physical."

Chris,

You parenthetically place Trump's height as 6'3", which has been suspect for numerous years. It can be readily seen when he stands next to others who are legitimately 6'2" or taller.

Trump's New York State Drivers License had him listed as being 6'2" for decades...

"On average, we shrink about a quarter to a third of an inch per decade for every decade after 40. All told, men will become about 1.2 to 1.5 inches shorter, and women will lose up to 2 inches, by age 70," TODAY contributor Dr. Roshini Raj.

So Trump is probably around 6'0" by now, but then he may be wearing lifts!

The age & health questions are fair questions for both Biden & Trump. Why Biden gets the media scrutiny on this yet Trump doesn’t is puzzling.

I saw a recent social media post of Trump screwing up the names of cities/states he was speaking at and the shear number of screw ups was stunning. I truly think he’s got some serious cognitive issues.

As an Iowan, I find it deeply offensive that Trump would mix up Sioux City with Sioux Falls. Sioux Center maybe, but not a city in a completely different state.

He only knows the geography around his properties, otherwise he'd flunk a U.S. (us) geography quiz.

Trump will be 78 next year, older than Biden was when he ran in 2020. Yet, Trump will be running, in part, on his claim that Biden is “too old.”

Yes, Joe Biden is old. And he might die during his second term. I'm not worried because I have tremendous faith in Kamala Harris. I know I'm in the minority, but I've followed her in the media, and I think she's intelligent and quick-witted. How many VPs have been chosen because they represented something the presedential ticket needed? Were they ready to step in as president at a moment's notice? Harris is a novice in many ways, but I think Pres Biden has given her a lot of jobs to get her ready to assume the presidency, and she'll do well if Biden doesn't finish his term.

Do you remember Trump going on Dr. Oz to talk about his health? Covid-19 let us down. It just wasn't strong enough.

Based strictly on mental sharpness, neither Biden nor Trump should be president. As the star of “Life of Riley” used to say, “What a revolting development this is.” (And now you know I’m too old to be president.)

Richard, I hope you do not mind, however, I would like to respectfully disagree on Biden's mental sharpness. If nothing else, his comments, actions, and speeches since October 7 alone should have cleared this up - both his public statements and his private statements, even after flying halfway around the world to Israel, and halfway back before giving his nationally televised speech a week ago Thursday night, October 19 (if you did not see that speech, I highly suggest you watch on Youtube - only 15 minutes) are evidence of his mental acuity. Biden's mind is still incredibly sharp. Yes, he walks slower, and has trouble physically getting his mouth to move and get words out at the same pace his mind works, however, the evidence is his mind is still very sharp. The evidence from Trump is quite the opposite. Keep in mind, when Trump took the cognitive test in 2018 while President, he took the test because those working around him had raised some alarms about his actions, and had asked the question about whether he was in decline. Despite however he says he performed on that test in 2018, he exhibited signs of mental decline then - the signs have only increased since, which you see in what he says in interviews/speeches, as well as how he says those things.

Our physical and mental capabilities do not age and decline at the same rate, nor at the same time. Look at Jimmy Carter, for example - at 99, still mentally sharp, and able to make his own decision to accept hospice care full time due to his failing physical capabilities. To me, Biden is physically aging, however, not mentally aging, similar to Carter, although not to the same extent. For Trump, he does not show the same level of physical declination, however, he demonstrates more severe mental challenges than Biden, and at an increasing rate of decline.

The test he took is extremely simple. I've taken it. It's obvious that Dumpy doesn't realize what a stupidly simple test it is because he keeps bragging about it.

I am confident that America would make the right choice come 2024 just as they did in 2020. And the choice is between an old competent , accomplished ,crisis free decent human being in Joe Biden and an old crook, liar , corrupt and election denialist in Donald Trump. Joe Biden would win his second Term just as he won his first Term.

Great thoughts all. I would add that if you review the actuarial science, Trump is indeed old and perhaps “older” than Biden. It’s another example of Trump existing in an exactly opposite realm. Lastly, I’ve read and heard reports that his philandering adds to the perception of youth and vigor.

Olbermann cited a poll that said that among those who view Trump and Biden *both* as too old, Biden had a commanding 61–13 percent lead. This suggests that your theory that age may not be the aid Trump thinks it is is correct—and it may actually work against him.
