You've talked about how Democrats are taking a big risk with Joe Biden. But what about the risk Republicans are taking with Trump? They've disappointed in three straight elections with him at the top

Trump IS the Republican Party now. Period. I don't know how there can be any other interpretation. If there is anyone who is counting on "sane" Republicans to oust him, those wishes should be dismissed by this point as being nothing more than silly dreams. There are only two possibilities now: 1) He wins the 2024 election and this country is in deep trouble; or 2) He loses the 2024 election and as he did after the last election, denies that he lost and foments another insurrection, in which case this country is in deep trouble.

There is no good outcome here.

Given 4 years of Trump in office, and the ensuing 2 1/2 years, the anti-Trump voters will very likely turn-out in droves at the polls in Nov 2024. Anti-Trump passion seems to be as intense as Pro-Trump, Pro-MAGA passion. With Trump as the standard-bearer, the GOP will need to really ratchet up their voter suppression tactics.

If Trump loses in 2024 will the Republican establishment be backing him again in 2028?

There are very few "sure things" in politics.

Trump losing in 2024 is as close to a sure thing (but not 100%) anyone can imagine.

Absolutely frightening what this country will be like after the 2024 election. Either way, we are in deep trouble in this country. Shocking to think that enough people in this country would elect Trump again. Just as it were in 2016, s the GOP will fall in line and won’t have read or heard of the latest absurd thing that TFG has one or said.
