Let's agree then, that this is the last time we will discuss him in a political newletter? He's clearly transcended politics and is now a C-list embarrassing celebrity with zero future.

But here we are. Doing what George and the the Orange Jesus wanting us to do, talk about them.

They both become irrelevant if we stop talking about them. Therein lies the problem.

Having a brief moment in the sun before the gates of the hoosegow slam shut on your ample behind is hardly “winning”. Santos sees himself as Trumpesque….but he can’t afford the Trumpian legal representation to defend or to delay his indictments. He is a walking, talking jailbird.

Please--let's all agree to stop making stupid people famous.

You are seriously on a depressing roll today, Chris!! What do we DO?! How do we fix this mess in American culture? Trump, Santos, sane Republicans deserting politics. I need a drink.

No, I would never watch him on anything. I have ignored him totally and will continue to do so.

People need to see it, though. I think that was part of Fetterman’s point aside from making a general fool of Menendez. Sort of like holding Santos forth and saying ”Are you not entertained?” Not gonna let Republicans off the hook over this guy.

Menendez has to go. I read the indictment and Holy Mother of God… okay, Santos is a lightweight. Millennial House hijinks with that, I say. Menendez - somebody please tell me they revoked his security clearance. I'm afraid to inquire. This guy is old-school political corruption complete with stolen gold bars and shady foreign agents.

Because dontcha just know that Menendez’s brain HAS to be mush? This is not his first rodeo with the DOJ, and it is almost the same charges.

Accurate. We have long honoured "style" over substance. It's why people like the Mango Menace, Matt Gaetz, MTG and yes, The Squad members, thrive. And, it has definitely been to our detriment.

The good news is that when we’re focused Santos we’re ignoring Trump, who is as desperate for attention. So more Santos please.

We need an electro-magnetic pulse and a series of satellite failures to stop the madness of social media.

Not with you on this one, Chris. He is going to wind up in jail and/or destitute.

Nope, sorry, Santos is not winning. He is a major loser at life. I feel confident that most of us on Chris' site believe that the "winners" in life are people who have worked hard, made their money honestly, lived decently and behaved honorably. People like Santos and Trump have none of these attributes. They are losers. History will surely remember Trump as a YUGE loser while history will not remember Santos at all.

We have become a deeply unserious country. As witness every damn thing.

I don’t think the attention will last. A good lawyer will likely have him plea bargaining to lessen any jail time. And he’ll fade away, which won’t help his mental problems.

Not sure how facing 23 felonies with potential time and having no income constitutes winning but ok.

I, for one, would never watch Santos on anything. Would people watch and be interested in him on DWTS? Look how that turned out for Sean Spicer. At any rate, the more oxygen we give him, the more he loves it. Stop giving him oxygen. If we had done that in 2015, perhaps we would not have had Trump as president. Santos was not properly vetted, people voted for the clown and here we are. It’s disgraceful how so many people aspiring to be in congress do not take the job seriously and only want what is best for their own agenda, whatever that may be. They do not care about their constituents, or the country.
