Yup, exactly. If the reports are to be believed, President Obama begged her to retire so that he could nominate a replacement. She refused, and we all know how that turned out..............
Much as I wish RBG retired during Obama’s administration, I don’t think that Justices or really anyone needs to plan their retirement so as to advance the interests of any one party. RBG clearly felt she could still do her job until she died and she wanted to do it. I believe she found her career gave her life meaning. As a native Bay Area resident, I remember when Feinstein was a county supervisor and succeeded George Moscone as mayor; I don’t think she will resign.
Sadly, she is placing herself above her country, her state, and even her political party and by doing so, she is doing a disservice to the country, her state, her party, and ultimately, herself.
Her clinging to power reminds me of my senator, Ted Kennedy, refusing to step down when it was clear that he was nearing his end. The result was that we ended up with Republican Scott Brown replacing him and having to wait for a subsequent election to win the seat back by Elizabeth Warren. Her legacy is secure. She's only hurting it and the country by hanging on.
I lived in California from 1975 to 2002. During that time, I was quite aware of Ms. Feinstein and voted for her for:
Mayor of San Francisco - December 4, 1978 – January 8, 1988 [The first female mayor]
U.S. Senate - November 3, 1992, via a special election to fill the seat vacated a year earlier when Pete Wilson resigned to take office as governor, and subsequently in 1994, 2000.
I thought she was at the edge of time in 2000, and most likely would not have voted for her primaries because no one should be in office for so many decades.
No, Fetterman should not go. But a useless waste of space like Tommy Tuberville or spineless worms like Lindsay Graham would definitely improve the Senate by their departures.
RBG was the worst disaster like this. Many years of greatness thrown away at the end because she could not quit and let a Democrat replace her.

How does she justify staying in office for another 20 months?
The leftist don’t have the character to push her out or to govern. They are all emotion and no pragmatic substance. Fetterman should go also

Is anyone talking to her other than her staff and family?
Is she being propped up?
In my case, remembering Strom Thurmond.
The longer she takes to do the inevitable, resign, the more she will tarnish her legacy.
