Question: will any of the upcoming trials be televised, and if not, are there things that we, the public, can do to change this so they will be televised? It is critically important that ALL Americans have the opportunity to observe justice in motion. Thank you for your great work!
Since you are the only published (twice!) author I know, I have a couple book/literature related questions for you:
1) I just came across "The complete works of Mark Twain" from the 60's (I think). I grabbed "Pudd'nhead Wilson" and read it as my "at the pool" book. There's quite a bit of language and descriptions of people(s) that are just plain disconcerting to read in 2023. What are your thoughts on how to address past works with a modern mindset? Re-write/edit the works or leave it as written with the "thats how it was back then..."?
2) I was finally able to get a copy of your most recent book and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. And by get a copy, I mean I got it from the library...How do you feel about libraries as an author trying to make money by selling books? (There was a long waitlist, so you are HUGE in the areas served by the Carnegie Libraries of Pittsburgh )
It appears to me that Jack Smith's Jan 6 investigation can't help but to have stumbled across a great deal of evidence that implicate several current Republican members of Congress in the Jan plot. Do you think there is a chance they get teed up separately by the Special Counsel and his team?
Also:
Since the KY legislature has passed a law that prevents Dem Gov Beshear from appointing a Dem as interim Senator in the event Sen McConnell dies/becomes incapacitated, how long does the new appointee have to have been a Republican in order to be appointed under their law? A day? A month? A Year? 5 Years? If a long period, could Liz Cheney move to KY and then be appointed by Beshear? Just askin' . . .
So, given what we all now know about Donald Trump, how do you explain his continuing hold over the Republican Party, as well as a significant percentage of the public? Is it simply fear of the base or real support? Is it the fear he preaches of the policies of the Democrats? Are we as a nation that polarized that Republicans will support him despite everything he has done?
Re FEAR: “If these illegal persecutions succeed, if they’re allowed to set fire to the law, then it will not stop with me. Their grip will close even tighter around YOU. It’s not just my freedom on the line, but yours as well — and I will NEVER let them take it from you.” D. Trump
How quickly do you think Republicans will try to rewrite history and their own perspective on the Trump years after he's gone? Do you think Trump finally gets exposed for who we in the real world actually see him to be? Do GOP leaders trip over each other trying to backpedal and rewrite history from all the things they said in his defense? Or does he become a saint who will forever be revered for his selfless (LOL) efforts to protect us all from tyranny (LMAO)?
How did the party that stood for laissez faire, anti-regulatory, low tax policies at the expense of workers, the middle class and the environmnent, become the alter to which those disenfrachised workers now worship? (full disclosure: I am a recovering Republican with Libertarian sympathies)
Lace! La Cheeserie good sir! As a Nats fan, do your loyalties prevent you from rooting for "dem Os, Hon!" while your team is in open free-fall? Or, do you shift to rooting FOR them in the interim, given their proximity? Outside of the NL East, I cannot recall anyone that I have met that actively loathes the OS, or has a cross word to say about Camden.
Yes, the facts are correct, but my question is why did you look at those facts? Looking at facts relating to the opposition party is unfair!!. Only a Rep can investigate Reps and any Rep who investigates a Rep is a RINO!! Nice closed circle . Any investigation of a Rep is unfair. What if the Dems tried that, LOL. For thee, but not for mee.
The thing that many people miss is the point that a disputed election would go the states in a one state one vote ruling and that would have given Trump a victory. He did not need an electoral collage win from flipped states changing votes , just a disputed election. Chaos was his main goal, having a disputed election, not proving an actual victory, was his goal. That was all he needed. In a disputed election, each state delegation in the House gets a single vote. As of now, Republicans control 26 of the 50 state delegations. Flood the zone with BS and cause disruption was Steve Bannons tactic and Trump was counting on that, and it might have worked. Trump did not count on some people actually following the constitution as a possibility. He thought "I don't, why should you?" Power is what I can give you if you pledge fealty to me. Trump could have won, if many local state politicians did not stand up against him. Let us all thank those who have actually read the constitution and abide by it.
"The Defendant said that he needed to “find” 11,780 votes, and insinuated
that the Georgia Secretary of State and his Counsel could be subject to
criminal prosecution if they failed to find election fraud as he demanded,
stating, “And you are going to find that they are—which is totally illegal—
it’s, it’s, it’s more illegal for you than it is for them because you know what
they did and you’re not reporting it. That’s a criminal, you know, that’s a
criminal offense. And you know, you can’t let that happen. That’s a big
risk to you and to [the Georgia Secretary of State’s Counsel], your lawyer. "
We already knew the facts, what it is now known, for a fact, is that the facts that are already known, constitute a crime. That sentence is crying out for a semi-colon somewhere.
Hey Chris. Asked this before. Why is the USPS like a hot potato for both parties? Hemorrhaging money and DeJoy seems to be getting away with anything and everything.
I have a question about yesterday's column about Joe Biden and Navy Roberts. While it's hard to understand the thinking of Biden and his advisors, with that being said, do you think Maureen Dowd's column in NYT played a big role in him admitting that Navy Roberts is his granddaughter? Because from what I've heard from pundits they think it did play a role.
John Kennedy had to address the "issue" of his being Catholic. Barack Obama had to confront the criticism of Jeremiah Wright head on. Do you think Biden is going to have to do the same about the "age issue?" It might be a speech, but how about a sitdown interview with someone like Sanjay Gupta, frankly addressing questions of whether he's up for another four years as president?

Which baseball player(s) do you believe can shatter Ted Williams career on-base percentage of 482?

Where does Ron DeSantis picking a fight with Black Republicans about slavery rank on the "dude, just take the L" scale?
