ISO: Speaker of the House
On Tuesday afternoon, 20 House Republicans revolted against Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan’s bid to be the next Speaker of the House, leaving the chamber — and stop me if you’ve heard this before — in total chaos.
As of this writing, it’s not clear if:
a) Jordan keeps pushing for more floor votes to try to win over holdouts
b) A challenger within the Republican ranks emerges as a home for anti-Jordan sentiment
c) Jordan bows out of the race
I could legitimately see ANY of those three scenarios coming to pass.
And it’s only Tuesday! And I didn’t even mention that President Joe Biden is headed to the Middle East on Wednesday amid the ongoing hostilities there!

If Jordan DOES get the Speakership (and for the record, I think that he will, because they're all terrified of Hannity and Fox News), how far to the right do you think that he will be? I can envision all sorts of disaster scenarios, including no budget, a government shutdown that lasts through and past the next election, you name it.
