The governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster, said before a GOP state gathering that he wants to "...hunt them (Democrats) with dogs."

Considering that a large number of Democrats are Black, with ancestry of slavery kept in check with trained dogs, why don't Republicans, like McMaster, realize they're constituents are Democrats, as well as Republicans?

C.

I realize that the GOP House committees like to make a ruckus about supposedly "criminal" actions of Dems...Benghazi for Hillary and now the Hunter Biden investigation and the "weaponization" of federal law enforcement agencies.

Q. That said...why is it that the GOP does such a poor job of putting together investigations?

Are they truly as ignorant as they sound, simply resigned to being unserious, or just go through the motions for the headlines firehouse to their constituents?

Trump supporters keep talking about “what Trump did for our country”. How can we reframe that to be “what Trump did TO our country”?

What do you think of NewsNation? Why hasn't ABC or CBS ever made an impact in cable news or livestreamed news?

Hey Chris, I’m enjoying your book! In your article about Diane Feinstein’s current predicament you mentioned Barbara Lee and Adam Schiff but not Katie Porter. Do you see Porter as a serious contender for the CA senate seat?

Hey Chris! Assuming Trump winds up as the nominee, who do you rank as the top potential VP candidates? I can’t help but think Scott is up there, assuming he doesn’t place well in the early running.

If you had to bet, would you place your money on Scott or the field?

One question in the aftermath of the DeSantis announcement.

I was watching online as it unfolded, and at some point over 583,000 people joined that specific Twitter Space.

Yes, they should have made arrangments to accomodate such a huge tsunami, but to me that is a huge number, likely beyond what they thought the "turnout" would be, and this may have contributed to the glitches.

What do you think this high level of interest in DeSantis' candidacy (at least among Twitter users) means. Do you think this positive spin will gain traction?

1. I'm not mentioning names- but what if a president tried to change the constitution to serve more than two terms?

2. What do you believe is the feeling of establishment Republicans and donors at this point? I'm sure many of them would love a nominee other than the former president.

I just read your write up on your current top 10 republicans most likely to be the 2024 nominee (insert link here). Just for fun, Twilight Zone-style, what would the list look like if Trump hadn't won in 2016? I know the toothpaste is out of the tube on what he's done to politics in general and the republican party in particular, but who would be the top alternate timeline republicans in 2024?

Recent comments seem to suggest a good chance that the Federal investigations into Donald Trump, especially on the classified documents issue, will end up in indictment and possible imprisonment. First, Chris, do you think that Trump will end up serving jail time for this, and/or the other investigations, such as Jan 6 and Georgia? And, if so, how would that impact the 2024 Presidential race? I understand that imprisonment does not necessarily bar someone from running and it seems as though nothing, even imprisonment, would impact MAGA voters but wondering how you see things unfolding. Thanks, Chris!

Hi Chris, I love your column.

My top five reasons to vote in the next few years are , in no particular order: abortion rights, January 6 insurrection, assault rifles, voting rights, and immigration.

What are yours?

Chris, it just feels like we're heading towards a default on the debt limit. Neither side is going to budge on demands and if one does, it seems like they won't have the votes in the house. My question to you is who do you think will blink first between Biden/House Democrats or House GOP once we actually hit the default?

Just finished reading the book - I enjoyed it a great deal! Not a question per se, but I did want to push back on the idea that Nixon bowling alone was indicative of his loner status in politics. Is bowling alone really that different from going to the driving range? Going for a jog? Working on your free throw or jump shot? A solo bowling game with no breaks can be done in 10-15 minutes, so the idea that Nixon liked to unwind with a few games doesn't appear to jarring. Granted, I understand that this was not the only way in which Nixon projected himself as an island, but as someone who likes bowling solo himself, I needed to defend the honor of the practice!

P.S.: The White Sox beat the Angels four games to one in the 2005 ALCS - not three games to two (p. 263).

I am a loyal CNN watcher. I miss seeing you on there. My question is why do we keep seeing these pro Trump, anti DeSantis commercials on CNN? Wouldn't you agree that your average CNN watcher isn't going to vote for either Trump or DeSantis? Seems like a waste of money. Wouldn't those commercials be more effective on Fox or other right wing news channels? What are your thoughts?

Do you think the DeSantis team has seriously considered the possibility that Trump won't endorse him in case he wins and will start a separate bid? What can they do in that case, as even if only 1% would go to Trump DeSantis can't afford to lose any votes in a competitive race.
