I am hoping for some reassuring words here. I fear that the Republican congress will refuse to raise the debt ceiling in order to crash the economy, simply to hurt Biden politically in the ensuing chaos. Surely they would never do such an asinine and self destructive thing, right???

What states have a chance of being competitive in the 2024 Presidential election besides the five that changed from 2016 -2020? I cannot see any additional states besides Nevada, New Hampshire and maybe North Carolina being in play. You and Gary Braun really need your own podcast!

Would you write some about the history of states that hold primaries out of order? I.e. the Dems in Iowa are at least floating the idea of holding their caucus whether or not the national Dems schedule it. What happens the delegates from the out-of-order-states? Has the gambit of doing it anyway ever worked out for any state? How much does it matter that it is an incumbent year (and thusly unlikely that the Dem primaries are much more than perfunctory)? And lastly, I think the Rep calendar still have Iowa at the top -- certainly the number of visits from Rep candidates continues to be high -- how often have the two parties' calendars been out of sync like that?

I recently saw a poll that indicated 76% of independents believe the Trump Indictment is at least partially motivated by politics…and 62% of them support it anyway. I know, just one poll, but is it indicative of the larger issue that may haunt Trump / The GOP even if the situation boosts his standing within the party? It feels like independents by and large do not like Biden, but hate Trump more.

Is there an underlying connection between the disappearance of a common external enemy (cold war / Islamic extremism) and the sharply growing division between Democrats and Republicans? Could a new common enemy (China?) slow down the partisan division in the US?

Mexico, the crime-infested wasteland just across the river, was supposed to get fixed, somewhat, by NAFTA. But it remains an source of many problems. Without building a bigger wall, what should we do, if anything, to make Mexico better for Mexicans or, at least, less trouble for us?

La Chesserie. I'm sorry for your loss. This tea-sip Texas alum read the obit and your father-in-law was wonderful man. I recall your father passed away a few years ago and you inherited a baseball card collection. I have the same. I do not have the time or inclination to go through it. I'm wondering how did you do it?

Why do people contribute money to Donald Trump? Even if one thought he was great he claims to be a multi-billionaire and therefore would have no need for cash contributions.

After seven years of national politcs, why do some people personally embrace the notion that Donald Trump really cares about them? Why do they identify so strongly with him even though his words, deeds, and lifestyle seem to obviously contradict that very notion?

Ditto except for Joe Biden. Why do some people think that a corrupt politician who has been part of government for 50 years is going to fix anything and actually cares about them? How did his family become so wealthy on a public servant's salary? 10% for the big guy!

Why don't you look at the 24 years of tax returns that Biden has filed. He was one of the Senators with the most middle-class of incomes. Most of the money he made was after he left office in 2017.
