Voters are voting!
No, off year elections don’t have the pizzazz of presidential election (or even a midterm). But, we have statewide races for governor in Kentucky and Mississippi and control of the state legislature (and the fate of GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin) at stake in Virginia.
And, hopefully, these races will give us at least some sense of the way the national winds are blowing in advance of 2024 too.
As always, I am here to answer any and all of your questions — about the 2023 election, the 2024 race or whatever else happens to be on your mind. (Favorite new album? “Javelin” by Sufjan Stevens.)
Ask away in the comments section below. I’ll be back Friday to answer your questions. Reminder: To read the Friday chat, you must be a PAID subscriber. So become one now! It’s $5 per month or $50 for the year! And you can sign up here:
What do you make of people like your former CNN colleague David Axelrod and conservative Bill Kristol suggesting that Biden step aside? They know it’s virtually impossible at this point. I just don’t get it.
More commentary than question:
But has anybody been paying attention to the 3rd special session in Texas? It's somewhat comical that Gov Abbott has mud on his face over vouchers. It may only be short-lived, but a bipartisan coalition of rural Repubs and urban Dems have come together....momentarily.....to defeat his desired $10,500 educational savings accounts.
It's a small victory. Now comes a 4th special session.
