What do you make of people like your former CNN colleague David Axelrod and conservative Bill Kristol suggesting that Biden step aside? They know it’s virtually impossible at this point. I just don’t get it.

Great question

More commentary than question:

But has anybody been paying attention to the 3rd special session in Texas? It's somewhat comical that Gov Abbott has mud on his face over vouchers. It may only be short-lived, but a bipartisan coalition of rural Repubs and urban Dems have come together....momentarily.....to defeat his desired $10,500 educational savings accounts.

It's a small victory. Now comes a 4th special session.

Hi Chris, love the mailbags & finally became a subscriber so I can keep reading them! Bare with me as I know this is a bit of a long shot, but is it possible that if Trump wins the primaries but the RNC nominates someone else? While Trump will likely steam-roll through most of the primaries, there is a strong likelihood he is convicted in his March trial in DC. This would leave him a convicted felon for a conspiracy to defraud the United States. For such a serious charge, he could be remanded or at the very least, house arrest pending his appeal. Being a convicted felon for such a serious charge will put a dent in his numbers with independents.

I realize this is a bit of a pipe dream to have him replaced by someone else, but as Democrats keep overachieving in these off-cycle elections, will the RNC just trot Trump out there even if he's in prison despite the fact he would be a huge liability?

With the results in VA tonight (writing this Tuesday night), does this shut down the idea of Youngkin entering the GOP primary? What does Youngkin’s political future look like?

Should Democrats consider Andy Beshear for 2028?

My wife and I absolutely love a cozy night on the couch each year watching election returns come in. CNN is our network of choice - watching John King operate the touchscreen is one of our favorite things! What’s your election night tradition and who do you watch for all the news?

Bigger headache for their party right now: Rashida Tlaib or Tommy Tuberville?

How bright of a political career does Kentucky Gov. Beshear have? Anytime someone wins in a solid red state (and vice versa) and is democrat I think possible president someday. Chris Christie in reverse you could say.

I am incredibly disappointed at the events taking place on college campuses - it is heartbreaking to see college students, at such an important time in their lives, feel attacked and unsafe on their campuses. What has been the reaction from your students, and how can elected leaders talk about the events to minimise or eliminate the antisemitism and Islamophobia. Thank you

Do we now agree Nikki Haley is a 95% lock to be Trump’s VP candidate (her abortion fudge being a political masterstroke) and that this is another BIG reason for Dems to…Really…Really…Worry?

Just heard that Joe Manchin is not going to run in 2024. How much of a problem is this for Democrats? (I'm thinking a pretty big one.)

How do you think the 2028 primary plays out on both sides?

It has seemed for awhile now that some of the GOP candidates for president were either running for the VP slot or hoping that somehow Trump would be forced to exit the race. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that Trump keels over and dies after eating too many Big Macs. Who becomes the favorite to win the GOP nomination? I can't see the MAGA base gravitating toward DeSantis at this point, and Haley is too much of a moderate. Would that be the opening that Vivek needs to revive his campaign?

The jobless rate is very low, wages are up and even the price of eggs is low. What is wrong with people and the economy?

During Trump 45, Trump never seemed to stop campaigning and start governing. In the event of Trump 47, aside from trashing civil service and only appointing acting cabinet members, do you think he might actually try to govern, and what would that look like?

Many historical figures are most famous for one quote. What do you think 45's one quote will be, and what do you think it should be?
