Seriously, how does the Speaker issue ever get resolved? And are they taking wagers in Ireland?

Chris, I subscribed because of the Point. I learned so much! My absolute favorite was when you went through the most outrageous lines of Trumps speeches. Keep up the good work! I’ve lived through Nixon, Watergate, Clinton, and Reagan. Politics make me tired and worried. I’ll never vote Republican again.

What effect - if any - do you think Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s independent run for president will have on both Biden's and Trump's prospects?

I think that the solution to a lot of our current issues is to invoke the War Production Act and start creating munitions as soon as possible. That will kick start the economy while also putting aside stupid arguments. Why do we keep asking at the partisan

Now that everyone has taken their positions, does Trump flip on his support for Israel to show his power within the conference? It would have the benefits of putting him opposite Biden and pay back all those “ungrateful” AIPAC folks. Its not like he actually believes in anything or will ever pay a price for it.

He'll try to make it seem like Biden actually doesn't support Israel. He'll try to convince everyone that Biden supports Hamas. I expect him to advocate the U.S. bombing (or nuking) Gaza and/or Iran.

Chris! Please implore Arnold Schwarzenegger to run for speaker thereby saving the world. Perhaps you can convince Hakeem Jeffries to nominate him. Please!

Does Patrick McHenry have the guts to get bills (like aid to Israel and/or Ukraine) passed even though there's some questions about whether he has the legal authority to do anything other than get a permanent Speaker elected? Would he ask the courts to weigh in on the question, or would he just do it? Or he is the sort that'll just sit there doing nothing while the sky falls?

I believe Kamala Harris is being groomed for a POTUS run in 2024. Any thoughts?

Joe Biden is running for re election in 2024 and he is going to win. Enough of the speculation about that. Kamala Harris is not going to dish Joe Biden like Pence rubbish Trump and now contesting for the Presidency on his own.

Not likely...she was DOA in the 2020 campaign.

Not to be racist...but her current strongest card is being Black/Indian and holding the position of Veep.

Astonishing that for someone who was able to rise to the heights of California Atty. General and its Senator that he had such few on the ground political skills.

She epitomizes large state elections (a la the Caudillo de DeSantistan) where one can be imaged without having to press the flesh or give speechs that makes one's heart take flight.

Chris, have you ever covered a Trump rally? Is it like most political rallies, or is it more of a cult-worshipping lovefest where the hero can pretty much say anything and the MAGATs will cheer? Trump is having a couple of rallies here in Iowa on Monday. I'm almost tempted to go just to see if his BS is as easily detectable in person as it is on TV.

Do you expect the situation in Israel to lead to more bipartisan support than Ukraine? It seems like R’s (for the most part - forgive me if I am skeptical of MTG’s support for the Jewish community ) have been more vocal in their pledges to support Israel than Ukraine. I would think that both situations warrant widespread bipartisan support

George Santos, what a story! It just gets better (?) and better? or worse and worse. Evidently his vote is needed for the speaker of the house. Will the House continue to allow him a seat? Wasn't it Reconstruction the last time a member was not allowed a seat? Do you think he will be reelected? Do you know what he is thought of in his district?

What is the deal with the Senate and approval of military promotions? As I understand it, and I may have it wrong, the Senate can vote on individual promotions, but Sen. Tuberville has blocked the option of doing many at once. What is the issue keeping Sen. Schumer from making the Senate vote on individual promotions for hours, days, and weeks? It's not like they have anything better to do!

Both political parties suffered a “bad timing” moment. The Republicans threw out their speaker without a clue how to replace him, and Biden gave Iran access to its $6 billion.

Then all hell broke out in Israel.

Politically speaking, is it a wash?
