The Iowa caucuses are over. And they were utterly predictable: A romp for former president Donald Trump.
New Hampshire’s primary, set for a week from today, looks to be more competitive — with Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley running neck and neck.
Then the calendar gets more difficult for anyone not named “Trump.” The Nevada caucuses in early February should be an easy win for the former president. And polling has him well ahead of Haley in her home state of South Carolina, which is set to vote on February 24.
It’s going to be a wild next month!

Chris - in the last Mailbag, you mentioned that even if Trump were elected in 2024, "we still have Congress and the Supreme Court". Why don't you think Trump will just plow through/around these institutions and guardrails? Do we really have enough checks and balances for someone who doesn't respect the rule of law or our constitution and believes a President has absolute power? Especially if civil service roles are filled only with people loyal to him. Maybe I am being too dark here but I worry!!
Whyyyyyyy? That’s my question ... well as a follow up, WTFFFFF? I just don’t get half this country.
