Want to know how long it’s been since the House had a Speaker?
This Friday will be the FOURTH weekly mailbag column I’ve written since Kevin McCarthy was ousted! FOURTH!
I mean, maybe — just maybe — Republicans will have settled on a Speaker pick by Friday. But, if past is prologue, well, then, no.
While the Speaker debacle among House Republicans has dominated the political chatter, there is STILL a (sort of) contested GOP presidential primary happening. And President Joe Biden continues to calibrate his (and America’s) response to the Hamas attacks on Israel earlier this month.
Plus, the World Series is almost set. And the NBA is back.
Lots to talk about! If you have a question on just about anything, put it in the comments section below. I’ll answer as many as I can on Friday.
One quick reminder: While anyone in the “So What?” community can ask a question, only paying subscribers get access to my answers later this week.
Not a paid subscriber yet? I’d love for you to become one — and get access to ALL of my content plus great perks like my live chat during the Republican presidential debates!

Sorry, Chris, have no interest in sports. And I'm in Greater Boston.
My question is strictly political: what is it going to take to get the press to start reporting on the obvious mental deterioration of Trump?
Why is Joe Biden's approval rating at an all-time low after his impressive and dangerous visit to Israel and an excellent oval office speech, not to mention all of the other things he's accomplished? I don't get it. What does the poor man have to do?
