Hunter Biden has already paid back owed taxes. How come news outlets aren’t pointing out that his punishment is harsher than an ordinary person would receive in his position?
Also that family members never discussed their business dealings with Joe, to avoid appearances of impropriety.
Hi Chris, I have enjoyed reading you since your days at CNN. I must admit with the personal touches I even enjoy reading you even more. My question goes like this. Every time, Trump gets into trouble (e.g. indictments...). They claim to have received donations. to the tune of $6m to $7m in a couple of days. I am getting quite skeptical. Is this ever fact checked? Thanks Jacques.
It seems like traditional Republicans are waiting uintil 45 leaves the picture to begin rebuilding traditional conservatism. I'm sure many of them never liked him in the first place.
Please comment in the article on CNN (Both Russia and Ukraine ‘diametrically opposed’ to Olympic mission, says IOC president). My comment is: I still remember the dead Israel Olympians in 1972.
Texas seems to be an increasingly competitive state with more liberal voters flocking to the major cities and suburbs much like they've done in Atlanta (the main reason that Georgia has flipped in recent elections)
With Colin Allred likely to square off against Ted Cruz, and Cruz's underperformance against Beto in 2018, it seems fair to say that it is within the realm of possibility that Texas flips.
In a Presidential Election year, and especially a Biden vs. Trump rematch, isn't Texas "sort of" in play? And if so, do you expect Republicans to pour endless resources into the state? If Texas were to be lost to the GOP, I find it hard to believe they'd easily win another election anytime soon
My question is this: What is it like on set during the evening at CNN? What is it like when seeing the map going more and more red during 2016. Am sure quietly everyone knows the danger in Trump and seeing that be inevitable. I watched coverage and started getting that sinking feeling, even when people are trying to be upbeat that Hillary still had a chance. What is the vibe on set? Love to see John King and the magic wall! I know the journalists and pundits can not put their personal opinions out there and believe you even said you don’t vote due to being a journalist and wanting to stick to being neutral.
Hi Chris, I have a question about the ‘big’ investigations in Hunter Biden’s so called business deals. What I do not understand is why the same house commissions, especially the Democrats, don’t ask for investigations into the Trump Oman deal (NYT this week) or the deals of Jared Kushner, who unlike Hunter worked in the White House, made with parties in the Middle East (2 billion for an investment fund). Last time I checked he was in his family’s real estate business, not an investor. The Trump and family deals smell fishy and of big conflicts of interests.
Hey Chris. I’m glad I found your substack! I was a big fan of your work at CNN and saddened when they let you go. My question is based off your point from today that Trump is in trouble with women independents. Do you think he actually cares? If he wins the election great. If he doesn’t he’ll just claim it was fraud on a level not ever seen in the country’s history, and will try to get friendly state legislatures to overturn the results. I feel like he actually WANTS armageddon. Thoughts?
Hi Chris. I have a couple of questions for you to consider answering.
1. If it isn't too impolite to ask, I'm curious how you are earning your income these days. Obviously you earn some money from paid subscribers. I assume you don't from unpaid subscribers (I don't see ads on this site). YouTube must generate some ad revenue. And you have a book out which I hope is doing well. Is there anything else? It doesn't seem like a lot of income generation to me, but maybe it is.
2. You've discussed at length how Joe Biden is haunted by questions about his age. It seems to me that is partly a function of Trump attacking him based on age all the time, and Biden having no counter-narrative. More generally, I don't think Biden's achievements are really getting any discussion, so the age issue fills the vacuum. Were Biden to launch a campaign now to sell his achievements (vaccinating the country to get past the pandemic, Build Back Better Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, Inflation Reduction Act) that emphasizes how he's helped/saved the economy and got the government working (some bipartisan bills) and throws in some visuals of vigour, do you think Biden could strengthen his hand and get past the age question?
Why are all these people (both parties) running for Prez when they "surely" realize they have no chance - and when running doesn't seem fun at all? SURELY Hutchinson knows his chances are 0! All I can think of: (a) they're delusional and no advisor dares tell them the truth; (b) they actually enjoy futile campaigning; (c) they're auditioning for VP, media, or some other exit ramp; or (d) they're trying to make a political point (eg Christie, Williamson, Kennedy)
Chris,
Please take the off-ramp from Biden-centric/Trump-centric cadres and concentrate on Independents.
Please break through the Dems-this / Repubs-that becuase the Indies is where the future of the Republic stands.

What does it mean in reality that Adam Schiff is censured by the House?
Please tell me, how much have GOP done since they took over the House except for starting all kinds of silly investigations?

Thoughts on the submarine?
How do Joe Biden and Democrats campaign against Trump's indictment without the optics blowing up in their face?
And if I can ask a sports question- thoughts on the Beal trade?
Look into your crystal ball. Who will be the first GOP presidential candidate to drop out of the race?
