Will Republicans ever pay a price for their hypocrisy? Harris shouldn't be elected because she didn't win any primary votes, but Musk can control the government without even running.

PS. I know the answer is "no", just taking a chance that you might actually convince me that pessimism is a bad thing.

Chris, would you please comment on the FBI agent's retraction re: Burisma , President Biden and Hunter Biden. If you already did and I missed it, could you send a link? Thank you.

The idea of Elon Musk being Speaker of the House is being floated. How can he be the speaker if that position is in line for the President and Musk cannot be per the Constitution since he is not a born citizen?

It’s a reality show I’d pay to watch.

Who is President now? Trump, Musk or Biden?

Chris- Non political question to be keep things light. Would you rather be a Super Bowl winning quarterback like Brad Johnson who is just average, or be an all-time great like Dan Marino and Jim Kelly but never win the big game?

Expand full comment

I think winning the SuperBowl is the reason that most of 'em play the game.

Yes but no one talks about Brad Johnson or Jeff Hostetler or Trent Dilfer. They still talk about Marino.

Do you think modern presidents get unfairly judged compared to their predecessors in that we have more information immediately? I'd argue the media is much less partisan than it was in much of the past as hard as that may be to believe. Looking back, Lincoln suspending Habeas Corpus doesn't get much play nor does Roosevelt's internment camps. Or, are we just willing to overlook pretty major negatives if we like other things?

Side note - Netflix has a great 6 part series on Hitler you may find interesting.

Keep up the great work & Merry Christmas.

Hi Chris -- I understand that by passing over AOC as a committee chair, the Democrats are ignoring a young, vigorous spokesperson against Trump--which you think is a mistake. But isn't AOC viewed as being pretty far left on social issues, which was a significant factor in the Dems' recent loss? Don't you think there's a good argument to be made that she should not be one of the faces of the party at this moment? Thanks.

Great question. I agree we need a new generation but aoc is SOOO left I'm not sure she is who I want to be the face of it for dems.

Have we reached “Peak Gerrymanderism?” Technology enabling lines to be drawn in granular detail, mid-census litigation, etc. Do you think we’ve sort of baked in narrow majorities of either party, at least for a while?

How should a moderate Republican navigate the next 4 years? How does a presidential hopeful that is a centrist Democrat navigate the next 4 years (looking at Shapiro 👀)?

Also, really appreciate the work you do here! It has . . . showmanship, but does not feel histrionic or pandering. That I cannot tell if “So What” has a political affiliation is a welcomed sight and a true accomplishment!

What are the chances that Liz Cheney will be criminally charged over the J6 investigation? If Trump can throw people in prison just for investigating HIS crimes, then I kind of feel like our country has completely jumped over the shark.

Chris, I saw this question on a recent post and was curious as well. Why have you been using AI generated images created by Grok? It seems there are plenty of open sources for these images (like the recent ones on Biden and AOC).

Is there still a federal nepotism law on the books? Wasn't that implemented after JFK had RFK as his AG? And why do I have a sudden craving for alphabet soup?

Could you add some thoughts to JV Last's Bulwark article today regarding Matt Pearce's essay on technology and the internet making us a less informed society rather than a more informed society as was hoped? It's a really intriguing and frightening concept that I am working to process. Would love your take! Thanks!

Does the certification of the electoral college vote go ahead if the government is still shut down?

In all the hub-bub of the CR going down, I saw something hilarious today. CNN had a crawl at the bottom for a bit that had "Musk, Trump tell GOP to not vote for CR". Made me think that if we want to get rid of Elon, just start calling it the way it is and put Musk always in front of Trump. What do you think?

Many Dems are already using the phrase "President-elect Musk". And it doesn't take much to get under Trump's thin skin...

You’ve said Nixon is your favorite President because you find him fascinating. Who are some of your favorite presidents in regard to achievement? You don’t necessarily have to agree with them (ie GOP crediting FDR’s leadership during WWII). Thanks Chris!
