I said this last week but Olivia Rodrigo's "Guts" is fantastic. I freely admit I'm probably not her target demographic, but her songs are so heartbreakingly relatable. A song like Get Him Back is not only really funny but I think captures a lot of how people feel in the aftermath of a breakup.

I'm also a big Brian Eno fan, I love the work he has done with u2, especially, and the album he produced for Paul Simon "Surprise."

If you like sad music, have you ever listened to American Music Club or their main songwriter Mark Eitzel. Listen to their album Everclear, and if you can find cds of Engine or California. Haunting melodies and wry and weary lyrics sung in a melancholy baritone. Not new of course, but I think they never got the attention they deserved.

Chris...great list. Just outstanding. Give Goose a listen. They are described as indie-groove, but I found them in the jam band scene. Check out live shows on Bandcamp.
