The war in Israel appears to be one of the most challenging and divisive for Pres. Biden. It's an almost no-win situation with his decisions and policies attacked by some on the left and by the right who accuse him of failure to support Israel. My questions: Do you think the majority of Americans are that interested in Israel? Do they really care what's happening? Yes, I'm being cynical but, possibly, realistic.
Chris, enjoyed your video this morning on 'Double Haters'. I think you gave a statistic that around 15% fell in that category. Continuing with your thought, but doing a Seinfeld opposite, I have been thinking that 'Apathy' is also running strong, and that there will be 10-15% who simply will not vote. If this happens, who do you think that favors? And what are your thoughts of the outcome combining these theoretical 'Hater/Apathetic' statistics? Thanks!
Do you think that Merrick Garland would consider such a move, or would it just play into Trump’s lie about the DOJ being “weaponized,” and that Biden is “the puppeteer?”
What’s your take on the move by the Biden campaign to directly address Trump’s trial? There was a time I thought ignoring it was the clear way to go. Let the trial speak for itself. But that’s clearly not working. Trump seems to be gaining popularity, not losing it. I honestly think Biden is pushing all the right buttons, but I fear it doesn’t matter. I also think that it really doesn’t matter what Biden and Democrats say or do. Trump and his minions will find a way to twist it to his advantage. I’m still at a loss to understand how Trump keeps gaining popularity. I get the idea that people are looking at his presidency through rose-colored glasses. But they’ve also completely abandoned any hope for Biden. It doesn’t feel like there is anything he can do to change the conversation. I still don’t understand how rational people can look at Trump and say, yes, this child should be in the White House again. I can only hope that when Election Day comes, common sense will prevail.
Really enjoying your newsletter and your you tube videos! My question is vey simple and I’m afraid that I might know what your answer is going to be, but I’ll ask anyway…
If Trump is elected again and we get through the next four years with him in office… Do you foresee him and his enablers to try and get him elected for another term ? In other words , will he try to manipulate the elections in his favor just because he can’t stand the fact that he could lose again? Thanks again!!
Guilty on all 34 counts. By a jury of his peers. As a convicted felon, he cannot be in the military, cannot vote in some states, cannot carry a gun and cannot work in federal employment.
Chris, the other day on X you posted a info-graphic that showed how split ticket voting has been down since 1984 between Senate nominees and Presidents. However, in polling we have seen a steady diet of Trump winning battleground states, but the democratic nominee also doing well in those states. Nate Cohn wrote about it a few weeks ago for the New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/13/upshot/polling-biden-battlegrounds-senate.html). Do you think we are seeing a change as Cohn wrote or is there something that the polls are missing? Do you think some of these people who are going to vote for the Democratic nominee for senate will come back around on Biden and just venting frustration now?
Article III judges can be removed from office only through impeachment by the House of Representatives and conviction by the Senate. The Constitution also provides that judges' salaries cannot be reduced while they are in office. Article III judicial salaries are not affected by geography or length of tenure.
Music question for you. I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about your music choices. My son listens to a lot of EDM and wondering if you listen to any of that? He is also in the beginning stages of writing some music and has purchased software for it.
You've been critical of Chris Christie et al for saying they won't vote for Biden or Trump. But when Trump went to the Libertarian convention and mocked them for putting up a candidate with no chance to win, it made your list of the wildest lines from his speech. Something about those two positions just doesn't compute for me, so can you help me understand what makes VOTING for a candidate who can't win different from NOMINATING one, especially in a state that isn't expected to be competitive (like New Jersey)?
Why is there so much discussion of the 2 US senators and governor of Florida as potential VP candidates? As the 3 of them and Mr. trump are all Florida residents, how can they be VP?
Which songs would best describe Joe Biden and Donald Trump?

Now that Trump has been convicted on all 34 counts, how much jail time do you think he will get? And do you expect much movement in the polls?
Jamie Raskin wrote this opinion piece in the NYT on how the DOJ can force a recusal of a Supreme Court justice. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/29/opinion/alito-thomas-recuse-trump-jan-6.html?u2g=c&unlocked_article_code=1.v00.usrL.NidjPkcRUocH&smid=url-share

Will Donald J Trump, a convicted felon, receive classified briefings after he is officially nominated? Can he be trusted with them?

Right?
What can be done to reign in an out of control SCOTUS???

The longer we wait on the SCOTUS decision on immunity, the worse I'm feeling about it. What are your thoughts on it?
Chris,
As to Alito recusing himself, is there anything that the Chief Justice can do?
Is there no impeachment consequence for a Justice who might overstep their bounds?
