The Republicans beat the Democrats 31-11 in the annual Congressional Baseball Game last night at Nationals Park.
Yes, you read that right: Republicans scored 31 runs — in a seven-inning game!
So, what does it mean for the 2024 election?
Well, it shows — NAH I AM KIDDING.
It means nothing — other than that Republicans have the better baseball players, by a lot. (Democrats haven’t won the game since 2019!)
What, other than the baseball game, is on your mind this week? Donald Trump on Capitol Hill for the first time since January 6, 2021? Joe Biden in Europe? The fact that the first presidential debate is exactly two weeks away? The fight for the Senate majority? The Celtics on the verge of a sweep? My favorite album of 2024?
It’s all fair game! Ask whatever is on your mind in the comments section below. I will answer as many questions as I can in my Friday mailbag post.
Anyone can ask a question. But only paid subscribers get access to my full mailbag post every Friday. What else do you get as a paid subscriber, you ask? Well:

An exclusive Sunday email with a list of recommendations from yours truly — a podcast, an article, a YouTube video, a Substack, a song, a book, a TV show — that I think you will dig.
And you get ALL of that — plus access to my daily content — for just $6 a month or $60 for the year! Or becoming a founding member for a bit more and a whole lot more perks!
Maybe the Republicans won the baseball game because they were rested from not doing any meaningful legislative work for a few years. Perhaps they were out practicing baseball during all those recesses that have been called while important bills were not allowed to advance.
Why don't you do a piece on Nancy Mace She seems to be a very interesting character
