Maybe the Republicans won the baseball game because they were rested from not doing any meaningful legislative work for a few years. Perhaps they were out practicing baseball during all those recesses that have been called while important bills were not allowed to advance.

It’s also possible they threatened the umpires with retribution and a bloodbath if they lost.

Or they might have just cheated and kept the other team from getting to the field or being allowed water as they do with voters.

Last but not least, this score is because of a rigged game and is fake news.

The Democrats won and everyone knows it.

Why don't you do a piece on Nancy Mace She seems to be a very interesting character

Co-sign on this. I'm also curious about what her primary win means for Kevin McCarthy. Doesn't seem like he's very good at this.

As a convicted felon, if Trump is elected would he be able to travel to other countries?

FLASH: #Trump to face (4) potential years in prison for his Thirty-four Felony convictions + (5) additional years in prison for “illegal gun possession” = (9) years total sentencing on July 11th! Note. The probation officer has already recommended #Trump be sent to prison “inmediatamente”.

If I may add a follow-up question - as a convicted felon he is not allowed to own or carry a gun, yet he would have access to the nuclear codes???

With the recent headlines on Thomas and Alito plus the eroding public confidence in the Supreme Court, are you surprised at Chief Justice Robert’s radio silence in addressing any of this? Isn’t his legacy on the line?

Maybe 4 trys will be a charm:

Why has neither party made issue of the USPS? DeJoy is a trump holdover - why??

In Colorado, our Senators have sent several letters complaining about poor or total lack of rural services.

While the issues with mail delivery pale in comparison to the abortion issue, people here in Georgia aren’t receiving checks (e.g., my landscaping company), legal documents are delivered late, medications aren’t arriving in time, etc. Senators Ossoff and Warnock have held hearings on the mail disaster in this state. They have visited the new distribution center in Palmetto, GA, where the employees have recorded videos of mail being dumped on the floor by the machinery. John Tester of Montana has introduced legislation trying to prevent DeJoy’s plan of consolidating postal distribution from Missoula, MT, to Spokane, WA, 200 miles away! As Tester said, “We need a Postmaster General who understands geography.”

Chris- How do Democrats happily go and play baseball with these Republicans? Is there animosity? "Oh you guys are taking a break from trying to dismantle our democracy? Great! Let's go play catch!" What am I missing here?

Exactly what I was thinking. In today’s polarized climate, what exactly is the point of this charade?

I think more of things like this would actually be a GOOD thing. Building relationships across the aisle may lead to other things.

I hate hypocrisy more than just about anything and it makes my blood boil when I see pious Mike Johnson supporting Trump and Mrs. Alito, a Catholic making snide comments about the gay flag. How can people like this square their beliefs with their activities? Your theory is appreciated.

Will today's decision by the Supreme Court on the Mifepristone case have any effect on the election and if so, what will it be?

I’d be interested in Chris’s response, but given that it failed on the question of standing, and had nothing to do with the merits of the case, the anti-choice people will just keep trying until they get something that our Handmaid’s Tale SCOTUS can approve.

I can’t see this affecting the general at all. Now, abortion on the ballot in many states? Yeah, THAT will be a motivation!

Chris,

What's your take on Martha-Ann Alito's comment regarding her dispute with her neighbors:

“I’m German. I’m from Germany. My heritage is German. You come after me, I’m gonna give it back to you. And there will be a way—it doesn’t have to be now—but there will be a way they will know.”

Do you have any idea what she meant by this? Is she planning to have troops invade her neighbor's yards? Very weird. (I've read several reactions that liken it to the Wicked Witch of the West - "I'll get you and your little dog, too, my pretty!").

How do we get past this belief that the only way through is to blow everything up and start over? Nobody wants to fix anything, and they don’t have a realistic plan for how to do it anyway. They just know that what we’re doing doesn’t work. I would argue that the biggest problem with our government isn’t that it favors liberals or conservatives, or that it has too many people or not enough. It’s that there are no leaders and no drive to actually work toward finding ways to do it, whatever it is, better. It’s just easier to say it’s rigged or it’s unfair or a failure and stand by that. Thoughts?

Hi Chris! Will the debate scheduled later this month actually happen? After 45's rambling and incoherent performance in Nevada when the teleprompter failed, and with the tighter debate rules, I would think his advisors would want him no where near that stage. Even with the President's limits, his adrenaline must be 'off the charts' and his staff 'licking their chops'. IMHO, as long as the President stays smart and out of the 'mosh pit', it's shaping up to be a self-inflicted, catastrophic night for the ex-President. What do you think is going on behind the scenes with both parties? Thanks!

Should we be talking less about the "double-haters" and more about the dislike-despisers? Getting folks like myself, who don't like a lot of what Biden has done but who despise Trump, to show up in November could be the key.
