Can you talk me off the ledge? Biden's approval ratings are in the tank, and they don't appear to have much hope of getting any better. He's being blamed for things (like a recession) that aren't even happening. Trump could be found guilty in the hush money trial next week, but even if he is, he'll convince a large swath of the country that it's just part of the witchhunt against him. He'll probably be sentenced to probation instead of jail, so many people will think that what he did wasn't a big deal. I think there's a very good chance that we're 165 days away from sending a convicted felon back to the White House. How did we get here?

My question too…

Is Ohio going to actually let Biden be on the ballot or are we about to truly enter the thunderdome of politics?

There will be legitimate street protests (not like January 6th) if Ohio state does not put Biden ob the ballot. And some Blue States will also find a reason not to put Trump on their ballot.

I remember Chris saying that there will be a legitimate reason for street protest if Trump was kicked off the ballot in Colorado. We'll same will happen here if Biden is excluded from the Ballot in Ohio. So, it's Ohio's problem and not Biden's problem

Therein lies the crux of it though: the Ohio GOP simply does not care what the people think and will do whatever they think is to their benefit, specifically with relation to their base. Gov. Dewine can say f*ck all about Biden being on the ballot at the end of the day, but until it's in writing that statement is worth about as much as DeWine swearing he knew nothing about FirstEnergy's corruption scheme when it was in process

Just saw this on X from Devine: "I am calling a special session of the Ohio General Assembly ... The purpose for this session will be for the General Assembly to pass legislation ensuring that both major presidential candidates will be on the Ohio ballot in November."

They will not do it by legislation. Such are the ways of my truly backward state. The DNC can get around it by holding a short, virtual convention just for the Neanderthals in the Ohio house and senate.

Biden will be on the ballot. I don’t know how but it will happen. I will even go so far as to say I will bet a month of Chris’ Substack proceeds that he is on the ballot (sorry Chris, but my Daddy didn’t raise no fool).

Do we need to start having Senate hearings on the fitness of SCOTUS spouses now? Is there an institution that has done more damage to its credibility than SCOTUS right now?

Where is Chief Justice Roberts these days? Does he even care anymore about upholding or preserving the Court? Does he actually condone or agree with Alito and Thomas?

Could you please elaborate about what you've learned concerning the shocking disconnect between Americans' personal lived economic experiences --- which are mostly positive with the exception of inflation and housing --- compared to their inaccurate impressions that the US is/has been in a recession, that the unemployment rate is the worst in 50 years instead of the reality that it's the lowest and that Wall Street investments are doing poorly versus increasing at well above the inflation rate? What are the sources of these dramatic misconceptions? Isn't the voters' perceptions that Biden has presided over economic disasters deadly for his electoral prospects against Trump? How can these misconceptions be corrected?

Chris, is this your first convention cycle not being part of a major news organization? How do you feel about that? My guess is the answer is, at least partially, "relieved."

Biden certainly has a tough road to victory . I have three young adult children. Though they will likely all vote for Biden, they claim enthusiasm of their friends to vote for Biden has lessened tremendously. Though it is unlikely they vote for Trump, not voting for Biden in a swing state like Pa. makes it easier for Trump to win . If Biden loses, and I hope he does not , two questions. Do you think he will attend the inauguration? Also, will the Democratic Party wake up and try to solidify their base , particularly with young people and minorities.

Any thoughts about the most likely way the drama around Ohio is going to play out?

Hi, Chris. I've heard you say in podcasts you were going to see this through through Election Day. Should we be concerned we have less than 6 months of So What and your videos? Do you have a benchmark number in mind for paid subscriptions/YouTube subscriptions to keep going?

How concerned are you about the (possible) implementation of the Heritage Foundation's "Project 2025", if Trump wins in November? I've read a good part of it and it's absolutely terrifying to anyone who isn't a religious Christian.

What’s Trump’s future in politics after he loses or god forbid after he’s served another 4 years. If Trump is re-elected will it be worse than the first time now that it will be his final term

Trump said this week that Texas AG Ken Paxton would be a candidate for AG in his administration, which, wow! Who else could possibly be a candidate for a cabinet position in a Trump administration? And conversely, if Biden is reelected, who would stay, go, or come aboard his cabinet?
