It’s hard to believe Portman had the intellectual capacity to be a Senator. Credit for putting his name to it, tho.
Trump’s demise isn’t going to do them any good. He’s replicated. The second most powerful person in the party is now in charge of the House, Marge Greene. McCarthy, Scalise and Stefanik may think they’re in leadership. She isn’t living on Big Macs and KFC.
Also, how much of that “life force” was Jack LaLanne born with? He lived to be 96 and remember seeing him do all kinds of incredible physical stunts. I’m sure Trump could do the same, tho. I’ve seen the super hero memes.
Portman was a political hack who had no taste to confront the issues facing the country. The only difference between him and the other spineless Senate ReTrumplican'ts like Cruz (TX), Hawley (MO), Kennedy (LA), Graham (SC) etc. is that knew when to STFU.

Sad! I don’t see him going away anytime soon. The republicans that know better need to pull up their big boy pants, or grow a set, and stand up to him. If they can’t do it individually, speak up as a group. Everyone knows Trump is bully, but come on man, he will continue to take the country down even further. It will be all revenge politics, siding with Putin, take the house down. He will destroy everything. He makes me ill to even look at him. I know how Hillary spoke about the deplorables, knowing exactly what she meant by it and agree with her wholeheartedly. Many/most of the followers are in a cult, they saw him on The Apprentice each week in their living rooms and are taken by him. I honestly don’t understand it. Thanks Chris, as always.

In a head-to-head match, DeSantis leads Trump 52 percent to 30 percent, with 15 percent undecided and 3 percent saying they would not vote if those were the only two options.
* With DeSantis, Trump, and “another candidate,” DeSantis got 44 percent, Trump got 28 percent, and the generic “another candidate” got 10 percent, with 17 percent undecided.
* In a 10-candidate field, DeSantis got 39 percent, Trump 28 percent, Mike Pence 9 percent, Nikki Haley and Liz Cheney 4 percent each, and five other candidates registered at 1 percent. In this scenario, 13 percent of the respondents were undecided. From the Bulwark

The former president remains the leading figure in the party and sits atop almost every poll done on the 2024 race. At the same time, he continues to go further down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories and general wackiness — making his appeal in a general election narrower and narrower.

Were there any consequences to Trump's bodyguard taking the medical files from Trump's NY doctor? Where are those files now?
In did a quick search and there's not much beyond the initial 2018 allegations from Dr. Harold Bornstein that Trump body guy Keith Schiller had taken the records. Here's a news story from the time: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2018/05/01/trumps-former-doctor-says-presidents-bodyguard-lawyer-raided-his-office-took-presidents-medical-file/569612002/
Trump is like a political cockroach--impossible to "kill" (politically), and he'll live forever just to spite everyone.
Two fish filet sandwiches should have been America’s warning sign that this guy is nuts

Neil Armstrong believed in the battery theory!

What’s the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Sits atop almost every poll?
Hey Vince. That's why I said "almost" every poll! If you look at the 538 polling averages (https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-primary-r/2024/national/) the vast majority of the data has Trump ahead of DeSantis.
Does that make sense?
Yes and you got me with 538. So maybe the 3 polls cited by Bulwark were outliers. Thanks for engaging; most don’t.
