Hard to get elected president when you’re an asshole.

I have always said that DeSantis has the charisma of a 2 week old dog turd on your lawn...

He’s a special case of misanthrope.

Chris, your concept of a vacation differs radically from mine.

"As I have written in this space, I believe that Ron DeSantis has a Ron DeSantis problem."

You were right. Then and now. Ask someone who lives here. DeSantis can't dress without Casey, and she has things to learn. The apple of her eye isn't impressive to humans once Ron opens his mouth and bobbles his head. Oh, and the fact that he's a vindictive jerk might be an issue? Well, yeah.

My prediction is that because Trump will not be on the stage, much, if not all, the invective of the crowd will be trained on DeSantis.

It will not go well for him.

Especially since he said clearly that Biden won the election (that Trump list in 2020).

I will need a costco run for popcorn.

Chris Christie will make a "New Joisy Meatball Sub" out of the Caudillo of DeSantistan.

Talk about a rolling loser headed into another meat-grinder when he then has to deal with the Gavin Newsom's tilt.

It started when DeSantic picked the fight with Disney. The mouse is the winner by a TKO. As a friend of mine once said, DeSantis started slow...and tapered off.

To me, DeSantis is just as terrifying a candidate as Trump, considering his beliefs and policies as witnessed in Florida.

I can't begin to imagine the damage these would have if applied at a federal level.

It is certainly hard to believe that a candidate who wants to "slit throats on day one" is even considered to be an improvement.

Hard to watch?

Hardly. I'm greatly enjoying watching the public humiliation of this extremist bully.

When you can't sell yourself to your own base in the primary, how do you expect to win independents in the general.

I know Trump likes to call him Meatball Ron and DeSanctimonious. I'm surprised he hasn't called him DeSinking (in the polls) yet.

NICE!!!

It’s karma for all the crap he’s done to the non-MAGA crowd in Florida.

Agree that he is out of his depth...me thinks it is absolutely glorious to watch!! Bye bye Ronnie!!

Your absolutely right, Chris, in writing that "the candidate is simply not up to the task." De Santis has been a flash in the pan, as a result of his big gubernatorial win...but in a presidential run, he can't stand up to the light of day.

Sorry Chris ... but exactly why is this "hard to watch?" I've got a box of popcorn and I'm kicking back and having a great time. It's not like he's a decent human being who feels the pain of others. Ask the migrants he put on a plane as a political stunt.

Everything you write, makes me think, again, about whom I trust to deliver honest news. You deliver honest opinions without any worth coming to you.

In some ways I feel "thoughts and prayers" for the Caudillo of DeSantistan.

How embarrassing it must be when your own super-hyped greatness is shown to be...how did Trump Junior state it, "A Nothing Burger."

Here's a tribute to the "Caudillo of DeSantistan," via lyric steals from the Steve Miller Band's - "Just a Passing Fancy In a Midnight Dream"

-----------------------------------------------------

As you start gladhanding on a Monday

While it's raining, you've proven

You'll go down about Tuesday afternoon.

Feeling powerless and squirming by Wednesday

You know you ain't getting nothing going too soon.

You don't know what kind of change

That will play, now that you realize what

Your sycophantic toadies won't say

"You're just a passing fancy in a Midnight dream."

Do you begin to worry on a Thursday

When you're polls are goin' down slow.

So, you call those pollsters on Friday

But they say, "You don't even wanna know."

Are you feeling reality's grip getting stronger

When there ain't a thing you can do.

Financially, you can't hold out much longer.

Do you still have a soul before you're through?

Do you feel the grip of reality, Caudillo

When there ain't a thing you can do?

When will you know

You can't hold out much longer?

Do you know your rectifying time is due

When you feel your liver shiver?

Knowing there won't be any mercy for you

When the Primary Season is through?
